I've recently moved my grow op from the attic to a shed. I wasn't too worried about FLIR while indoors. Now I think it would be suspicious for my shed to be significantly warmer than everything around it.
I'm thinking if I put up a 42w cfl security fixture on the outside of the shed I could vent my hot exhaust right alongside of it to mask the heat from my lighting. I don't think it would stop them if they had other reason to suspect me. But maybe it wouldn't really draw any attention during just a casual flyover?
I should add that I live in a very rural area. I see maybe one or two suspicious helicopter flights yearly. And they seem to be looking in the woods, probably for outdoor grows. I have a 150w hps and roughly 600 true watts of cfl lighting. Without any exhaust system at all, right now my temps are about 35F warmer in the flowering chamber than the outside air.
Anyone think this is a halfway decent idea? Any better suggestions?
