Disappointed In Attitude

I'm sorry, I know they're supposed to be good guys, but I have an 80% failure rate with an Attitude Seed Bank purchase. Only 1 out of 5 seeds sprouted and the others split open to reveal mush inside. Maybe someone here can tell me if I'm doing something wrong. I doubt it but am open on the subject. Sprouting is the problem, and that points to seed because I only got into growing (and was successful) once with my Attitude seeds.

I used the paper towel method for germinating which has worked well for me, both in the past and with my second try with Attitude. I maintain a dark and warm environment and use pure distilled water, but don't even get a sprout. Like I said, since this is germination only the problem has to be pretty basic and that points to bad seeds.

I'm sure I'm way past any date Attitude would allow, so I'm pretty well screwed unless I use more energy than it's worth. It's even worse because I'm on a fixed income. What's frustrating is that since I'm disabled, not only is trying is very difficult but it takes me time to do things and I get crap about why it took so long to notice a problem or return a product. You'd be surprised at how shitty people can be, even when I'm right in front of them in my wheelchair. (This isn't whining, just a statement about the psychic energy it takes sometime)

So, while I realize they can't guarantee plants the fact I got 1 sprout out of 5 seeds tells me I got a bad batch. I'm really disappointed with Attitude's quality. Has anyone else had this 80% failure with them?

I've never had 80 failure with any viable seed. I've had better success rate with bag seed. The seeds were fully developed? Nice dark shade not white or soft?

The seeds were small and tan colored. I figured because they were as reputable as you can expect in this business that it was good seed.

I can't imagine tap water being better than distilled, given the chlorine and other impurities.

I would just buy a Nirvana germination kit like I did. Its only a couple dollars and you can cut off the number of pods that you want to or need to use (comes with 10 pods). Just put the extra pods in a ziplock bag and it will keep them good as new. I am a first timer grower but I really wanted to make sure the money I spent on my seeds would actually give me what I wanted. How long do you leave them alone? How warm is the spot that you are using? are you putting the paper towel in a ziplock bag to keep the humidity up? There are a number of things you could have done to make an error or as you said they might be a bad batch. I have gotten 12 seeds from them in the past year all 100% germination rate. www.germinationkit.com Happy smoking

I always use tap water. Straight from the tap, but also my tap water has a mild P.H. level close to 5.5

I have experienced this issue once and it sounds like you might have accidentally drowned them with a little to much water.... The wet paper towel should be damp, not soaking wet. if there is to much water, they can't breathe and the young seedling drowns then turns to mush...

I must be really lucky. Out of hundreds of seeds I have cracked I think I may have had about 5 or so that never cracked or did anything. How long have you had them in the paper towels? Most of mine will usually pop overnight, but on occasion I find seeds that take 3-4 days before they even start to open. Sometimes you just gotta wait it out a little.

I'm 100% with bagseed using tapwater.

This is false ^^ they will NOT send you new seeds if you talk about germinating there souvenirs or growing them in ANY way. I had a problem for a little while with Attitude because I became a little to impatient waiting for my seeds to germinate. When you are on their website trying to send them an e-mail it even says that they will not answer any questions relating to growing. So you have to basically tell them that your souvenirs were damaged when you got them or that the packaging was damaged. Resulting in them asking for pictures of the damaged product in order to give you new ones. They wouldn't even give me a free promo set or any freebies at all to replace mine.

i had the same problem...

i had 4 nirvana seeds and 1 reserva privada kandy kush seed...

all 5 cracked and only a tiny tail came out on 2 of them, but not long enough to sprout. The only 1 that had a tail that was big enough was the wonder women but its been a week now that its been in soil and NADA............

i will NEVER buy from NIRVANA again ...

I believe he was talking about getting his seeds from attitude seeds. I was just saying that I had bought my germination kit from Nirvana.

if medium is soil - just put the seed into the soil about 1/2 or 1/4 inch down as mother nature intended...

it sounds like your germ method if failing you...

Well, apparently people took advantage of that. I reported 'bad' Barney's Farm Tangerine Dream seeds (first batch to public, sucked as many of you have read) and they asked me to ship them back for replacement.... I do not know about you, but I'm not going to ship marijuana seeds across state lines, let alone to another country. I would have to have my info somewhere in that package for Attitude to know who sent it... I think they realize this is a new tactic they can use to not honor crushed seeds.... They could also, in the future, refuse to replace seeds that were not ordered in crush proof tins...

Anywho, no, Attitude will not replace 'cracked' seeds w/o seeing them first, in their hands...

correct, tell them they were damaged... duh. and they are generous with the seeds.

I'm just saying that's his only hope in anything is too make an effort to get new ones for free. I've heard many generous stories from them so it didn't seem like it was a farfetched idea. but some people are saying it's your fault for germinating wrong =\

What brand are they? Attitude only distributes they make no seed.
My Thought's exactly It has nothing to do with the attitude and everything to do with the Seeds you bought The Tude Don't Make seed Or package them They Just sell them For breeders ...I'm 1 For One With All My Seeds So Far ..even the elusive Tangerine Dream Sprouted the First Time through :) I'd say it's your technique ;)
