Dinafem's Blue Hash

I got my Blue Hash seed as a freebie from Attitude. Thankfully, this seed became a very nice plant while the other seeds I ordered were crap (autos).

I've been very happy with everything that Dinafem puts out. Every seed germinates, and always end up with a healthy plant. The Blue Hash was no exception.

It was grown in Happy Frog under various lighting including T5's MH and HPS. Total time from seedling to harvest was just shy of 4 months.



I had kept it short intentionally as I had planned to grow it totally under T5's and was shooting for a short bushy plant....and it complied.






As you can readily see, this sucker grew some donkey dicks.

Growing this plant did have a few set-backs. There was 10 days where the grow room hovered around 90+ degrees and the plant showed signs of heat stress (waxy leaves, smallish buds, damaged trichs). I feel the colas and branches would have given me fatter buds had it had an easier time with the environment.

I have it up drying at the moment, but I'm guessing that this plant will give me about 3 ounces when dried and cured.

dinafem blue hash used to be a pretty popular strain & always got good grow/smoke reports

I have been wondering about this strain. Its become popular and ive met a few people growing and cloning it.
i think i may grow this during the winter season.
How long did you veg under a T5?

I got one as a freebee to i flowered it under a 1000watt hps and it had a hugh top cola, dinafem is the shit

I would have to look it up, but I believe I vegged it for 7-8 weeks. It was a fast grower, very thick stems right from the beginning. An impressive plant to watch grow.

Smoke Report:

There's a caveat to this report......This plant went through almost 2 weeks of 90+ degree heat in my grow room despite all my efforts to lower the temps. After the high temps, I checked on the trichs and found amber way too early in the budding cycle. I believe that the heat damaged some of the trichs. This fact made it difficult to determine when to harvest this plant as I always look for amber, and then yank it down. I believe that because of this, I mistakenly yanked it early. How early.....I don't know.

All through this grow, the plant smelled just like hash. Upon harvest and curing, the smell is all but gone. There's no grassy smell, just very little smell at all. I'm still trying to figure out my curing process, but have cured in past grows with fine smelling/tasting weed in the end and did nothing different this time around.

I've been smoking White Widow x Big Bud exclusively for the past six months, and that weed knocked my socks off. The Blue Hash is a much different high than the WW as it sneaks up on you when you're smoking it. I've found myself thinking that this weed is shit after smoking 1/3 of the joint, and then a 1/2 hour later find myself stoned with a shitload of couchlock going on. I'm a heavy cigarette smoker and after smoking the BH, found that I hadn't had a smoke in over 1.5 hours as I hadn't moved in 1.5 hours.

The taste......well....it's not unpleasant, and it definitely isn't the choke-weed the WW was.....my wife who coughs every time she smokes had no problem with this weed. This pot is definitely night-night weed, or good weed to sit down and watch a movie....just get your popcorn before smoking it as you'll not want to get up to cook it later.

In closing, I think this weed would have been much better had I had control over the heat, and harvested it at its peak. This plant was my first 3 ounce yield, and I hope that all my future grows are as fruitful.
