Did I top right?

Sort of looks like a FIM rather than a top. Also, I think you jumped the gun a little. Growers tend to allow a few more nodes to push through before they top. Any reason why you topped/fimmed so early?

''Yep...back to topping,....imo now is a good time to top it.If you haven't done it before....read up.I do it all the time....Unclebens top once for 4 tops works...but normally it's top once for two mains and each topping doubles the main colas''

is what he said

He's right about topping creating more colas. If you have 3 ft of grow height, personally I would've left it to grow a few more nodes before topping. There are some crazy techniques out there, though. Mainlining comes to mind, and even then it's suggested that you wait until the plant has 5 or 6 nodes before making the first cut.

If everything else in your grow environment is good (temps, humidity, light, soil, feed, etc) your plant will be fine.

im just leaving her be until the next waterign cycle. which should be in about 2 days. the i have to keep the door open a little to manage the heat. i dont have a thermometer but i was gunna see about a phone app with a thermometer to see just how hot it got with the door closed. one quick question. when is the best time to repot to a bigger pot?

its my first ever grow. so i wont be incredibly let down if she dies. in fact. im expecting that she will. once this plant is finished i do plan on going hydro

There's no reason for this plant to die. Make sure she's on a decent feeding schedule, manage the other elements of your grow environment, and she'll be fine. Similar principles apply to hydro growing, so it's important to get the basics right first.

temp was at 92 with door closed. that is not good. so in order for me to use this closet.....im gunna have to keep the door open while it veges and close for 12 hours when its time for dark

Or better still, add some cheap cooling to your closet. A few PC fans or a desk fan should do the trick. Try to get the conditions right (air intake and exhaust, light, humidity, temps) consistent in your box without having to open doors or move it around. You want to try to limit the potential for foreign objects entering your growing environment, keeping it as 'sterile' as possible.

i have a clip on fan from walmart in there blowing on the bulbs. still 92 degrees. and i cant cut holes in my wall to rout hot air out

basically this first go round is just to get a feel for growing. but im not giving up just yet. would she survive at 92 degrees?

Lol....I didn't mean for you to go top it right then and there......I figured you'd read up a little.....then maybe realize you could let it grow past that node but still top at that node......anyway good job...a little bit of a fim:).....but it will be fine and you will be happy. Now the bottom branches will grow out catching up to the higher branches, making it more like a bush than a tree........you'll see.

She'll survive, but anything over 90 and she most likely won't be happy about it. They don't like stale air, either.

Keeping the door open during the parts of your grow isn't really a sustainable way of managing temps/air flow. You'll need to address that by either adding cooling and exhaust, or by growing in another box.

What kind of intake/exhaust do you have setup?92 would be ok as long as you have good ventilation and air movement.

so basically i need to build a new box. it could be 1-2 months before i have everything i need to get the box up and running. should i just cot my losses and dump the plant? until i have a suitable place to actually grow?
