how do i determine how many 1000w lights i can have in a grow area? is it dividing the area by 4x4 since the 1000w covers about a 4x4?

yes work out how many 4x4 (1000 watters do a 5x5 area) are in the room and thats the number of lights you need.

if your going to do a 4x4 area get a big hood like the magnum xxl. also another gud way to increase your yield is to get a spliter for your 1,000watt ballast and run two 600 watt bulbs to each 4x4. never hurts to have more light just dont waste it. I thro 7 to 9 plants per 4x4

i have 10 under my 1000w right now, but 4 of them are tall and skinny. i do not advise that method, but yes! 4x4 with a 1000w is perfect. i have a 400w hps set up, im debating taking the hood off and letting the bulb and socket hang by the cord to give some extra light to the lower buds. but i do think it will give off not needed heat. so its a debate im dealing with. rock on man!!

Im just setting out my room tomorrow and for the last couple oof weeks my heads been a bit mashed reading all sorts of info lol
Basically as far as i can see it's not rocket science and sticking o the basics especially on a virgin run is imperative so this is my plan tomorrow.

I have a 100sqft room to play with so I'm going to section of 70sq mtr and set up as follows:

4x3 x4
4x600,s in each with snmaster duals
4 plants per area = 3 sq per plant
Total 16

Extra space for inspection etc

Passive grow so all hand reared

Fan is a 250 ruck with auto temp gauge and multiple speed exchange rate of 1050m3 so plenty left in tank. Hooked up with a rhino

Wish me luck!

MSS are you running 2 1k per 4x8 tray? i think 9 per is perf too but in a 4x4 or 5x5 area. jmo... the lb mark is very doable with 1k on a 5x5 area with 9 plants.
yeah im running 7 1k lights at that location and i run two xxxl magnums per 8footby 4 foot tray. i use the trays to drain in and the water is caught under the table that way i never have to move the plants. I would like a 5x5 but i cant get a tray like that. it actually fits 10 per light in a 8x4 perfect. 3 rows of 3 then 2 enbetween the lights
