Hello everyone ! I’ve been battling temp and humidity for quite sometime. I’m looking for advice on how to best set up this room. Here are the details :

Room is 17X6 with 10’ ceilings
Inside room / meaning all interior walls.
White walls ( Sheetrock )
Small AC supply diffuser
Small return diffuser
Running eight pot ebb and flow with 30 gal reservoir
Next light mega 600 W Led on light mover
A/C infinity exhaust fan blowing into attic to create neg pressure in room.

I go through at least one dehumidifier a year. I recently tried to regulate things better with a portable AC unit with the hose exhausting a few inches below the AC infinity fan. I’m not able to install a mini spit . The AC unit I bought only lasted a year ( over sized for the room perhaps ) I also have a floor drain to drain condensate into.

Looking for recommendations for equipment in the room. I guess I don’t fully understand how AC / dehumidifiers actually work. I previously ran the AC and the dehumidifier at once. Seems like they were fighting each other.

Thank you !

Hello, i run a similar setup .
Flood and drain 8 buckets 2 tents AC and dehumidifier two 1000w lights running between 320-500w ea .
One problem i see straight off the bat is that Airconditioners work best in a sealed enviroment and when your exhaust fan vents outside of the room to the attic air would be getteing sucked into the grow room making it hard for the AC to cycle temp down in the grow room .
this is one of the reasons i run 2 tents in the room so i can use the room as a lung room .

An air conditioner will remove heat and humidity. Typically running it with a dehumidifier will increase the effectiveness.

A portable ac still needs to exhaust outside the room, I run the same type setup. The ac exhaust is quite warm and humid air, if you are exhausting it inside the same room it is basically fighting itself. That’s why mini-splits are “split” and window units have one side inside and one outside the space.

Edit: As a side note, be careful exhausting into the attic as well, you can quickly develop mold in attic spaces since the air is warm and humid. Either have excellent ventilation in the attic or run the exhaust all the way outside through the attic since your room has no outside walls.
