Dense Buds

I see all these pictures online of buds that are like... really thick and dense and look like they are all mushed together.

How do people get their buds like that?

When I dry mine they go from what LOOKS like dense to all "hairy" or as I call it "Airy" because it just seems like there is too much air in them.

It kind of seems like people are using their fingers to mash the bud together to get that look, but I heard handling it too much destroys tricomes.

Anything?

its all about the lighting man, if you have enough light and theyre close enough your buds wont be airy.

the more intense light you have the denser they will be.. if it is not an option, add molasses during flower..

Yup what they said. Get more lights or get you light closer to your plants.....Just not too close or you can burn the leaves. What set up do you have? Lighting? grow area? nutrients?

genetics also, i still get airy buds on pure sativas.

yup...all that...a lot of light energy..close to daylight. i use co2 enrichment. great soil and plenty of water especially at the end they suck up so much.

Hps and well controlled temps/rh.

It's also trimming too....if you have a branch or even cola with lots of lower buds that aren't getting much light, they will starve energy from the top, big buds....cut off the lower ish and watch ur bud size double
