Dehu/AC drainage pumps: Fish tank vs Condensate

Hey guys!

Looking for drainage pumps to lift the dehumidifier water, and eventually a portable AC unit as well. Water needs to gravitally flow 1-1.5 meters to the pump, and then be lifted around 1.5 meters through a window.

I've come across with Fish Tanks Pumps and Condensate pumps.

Does anyone knows the differences about it?

Is there any better type of pump for this? Or anything I should be looking for?

Cheers!

I use a 1100gph bilge pump automatic with float switch to pump my run off about 30ft, then about 3ft high to my washer drain.
Bilge pump? Seems like a bigger aquarium-like pump no?

Do you run it continuously? How about heat and noise?

Cheers and thanks for the tip!

Old video of my old set up, still use the same pump setup though

It turns on once there is 2” of water in the basin, and turns off once empty

if you could somehow do the 3ft raise, then pitch downward it would be less taxing on your pump if that works. also an extra inverted U trap going into that washer drain will help syphon all the extra water from the 3ft column

right now it is pushing all that water + 3ft. instead of only 3ft of water then letting gravity drain it out

with an 1100 gph bilge though I doubt you need to worry at all about taxing the pump, lmao!

Drain is on the other side of my basement, 2 rooms over. impossible to do and works just great with no issues.

It literally pumps for 3-5 seconds and shuts off when empty.

Sorry guys, been hospitalised in the meantime.. all going well so far.

Does the pump do this automatically? Or you had to automate it somehow?

The pump has a float valve built in, once the water hits 2” it’ll trigger the pump to come on.
