How do you keep Deer or other forest animals from eating your stash if you grow it outside ?

You setup a tree stand, and get up in it about 4:30am, either rifle, bow, spear, rocks, whatever works for you and bust that sorry bastard as soon as they raise that head up and get a clear bead on heart or lungs. They eat good too ;) Just got a 10 point buck Saturday morning @ 300 yds with a AR. Ran about 100 yards on pure adrenalin and dropped. I glad it wasn't in a brair patch this time... a pr of 15 lb shoulders, 9lb rump roast, 20 lbs burger, 20 pounds steak. All processed for about 75 cents a pound. you can't beat that anywhere, steriod free, biotic free organic meat.

The smell of bloodmeal and bonemeal will attract scavengers that like to dig up the soil, but at the same time it bothers the deer.

I have used an egg spray before that seemed to work for keeping the deer away. Do a search and you should find other people talking about it.

Then ya have other critters digging it and shit.
I use it on all of my trees, flowers etc. and have never had a problem. I also have a few bears that come down each night and visit but they never seem to fuck with the plants(Berry Bushes etc) with blood meal. But you never know. Maybe someone else will have a better suggestion. edit. Whats the low down on the egg spray?

On a side note I think that once the blood meal gets into the systemic system I never have to reapply the blood meal.

Do you take the bloodmeal and put it around the plant or a 10 foot circle around the plant ? How often do you need to do it ?

What do you do with the Irish spring soap ?

Congrats on getting a buck this year.

Thanks La9!,
It was my first one this season, and a damn beauty at that, his tines weren't all clustered together in a typical rack, they were spread out a good 8-11 inches. we're gonna be eating good @ Christmas! Smokin good too ;) Around here it's popular to plant a feed plot using deer forage Like Mossy Oaks Bio-Logic about 2 acres away and they stay on that stuff and don't bother anything else around. This is coming off some ppl been doin it for a long time. I'll be doing a detailed outdoor this year guerrilla style, possibly multiple growers ;) and will document in a journal.

Dial deodorant soap, and Irish Spring soap contains “tallow” which repels deer. I wrap a chunk in a small piece of cloth, and put it on a paint stick. Then just stick in the ground.
