'dark period' in final phase ...partial darkness

Not to stir the pot... as I don't know if this is still debatable topic,,

Just speaking for myself, I do notice what appears to be cloudier trichomes at least.. in other words it seems to have an effect.. but I have noticed that some plants that have just been pulled from direct light, then set aside, seem to respond same/similar to plants that get the full darkness treatment.....maybe better (?) .

I'm thinking could possibly be the same benefit w/ regard to thc, but with less stress on the plant. I just wonder if the people who do those studies have fooled around with simply removing them from direct light..
imo, it's probably all negligable, but the buds do seem to look better.

I've done 48 hours off...but never saw a difference....yep:leaf:
I still do it...since, it saves me a little juice and it's harmless.
Others will swear by it. But, I'm not convinced.:weed:

I still have yet to find scientific evidence that the dark period prior to chopping increases the sugar on your buds. I still put it in the dark for three days. Heck saves energy and if it does really work cool. If it doesnt well the stress at the end for that small amount of time shouldnt mess it up.

LOL A very debatable issue.

If anything IMO that 2-3 days of darkness at harvest will negatively effect your plants. Rather then darkness just continue the regular light schedule so your girls get light so they can produce more resin during the 12 hours of darkness. I've tried it once and nothing noticeable at all except a higher humidity which is a no-no the last week of flower. I even tried dimmed lighting the last week once and nothing. I do 48 hours of darkness from veg to flower to get my girls going but I'm not even sure if that helps being I never really begin flowering until 10-14 after 12/12 switch.

Nothing wrong with experimentation though.

I'd say I notice a difference (or at least I think I do), but wouldn't swear by it. I do think that harvesting in the morning (what the plants consider morning anyway) is a good idea...

What has improved my crops the most is harvesting from the top down, as the buds do not mature /ripen all at once.. I think I knew that,, but watched some videos of Steve Tuck waxin intellectually about it.. and you have to listen to anything that guy says.. the fkn man.
