Cuttings. Exakt where to cut?

Have read that you should cut 1/4 inch below a node, but what exactly is a node? Is it where the leaf grow from the branch? Anyone has a picture that shows where to cut?

when i take cuttings i usually cut where both stems meet....then i trim it up...cutting off the tips of the leaves...I dont use rooting hormones, I just put the cutting in dirt and put a sandwich bag over top...make sure u constantly mist the inside of the bag and cutting....high humidity....Took me 7 days to root 3/4 cuttings
