Cutting the plant vs. Pulling It Out by Root

Looking for opinions on whether it's best to pull the plant out by root and hang the whole plant or whether it's best to just cut it down with a saw or does it really matter?

Cut it. Why deal with the mess?

Cut it. Why would you want to mess around and get dirt everywhere?

and possibly in the bud

Cut it not only does cutting save you the dirt mess but you can harvest only a portion of the plant and let the smaller buds go for another week or so if you do that though be careful you don't let them go too long
