Curly leaves, purple leaves.

Hey guys,

I'm having issues on 2 of my plants. Here are the details:

• Indoor
• Soil Organic
• Textile pots
• Scrog
• Flo +18
• 61.46% Humidity, 19.04°C
• Lemon OG Candy
• Auto watering with Blumat.

Following the instruction I'm supposed to give them extra bloom nutrients (3-6-10) this week. So these could be deficiencies.

First, pictures of the first plant:


At first I thought of underwatering, but after watering it well, there is no change, so I wonder what this could be.

Second plant:


On that one, I can start to see the same symptoms + some purple on leaves. Could be Phosphorus deficiency ?

I'm thinking of giving them the nutrients ealier, but want to be sure this is a deficiency.

What do you guys think ?

EDIT: Oops, just saw the pinned thread asking to turn the LEDs off for pictures.. They are ON :/

Looks to me like they are really underfed or your ph is way off. Calibrate your ph meter and check that first.

pH flush and test runoff. I would defoliate. That looks like a jungle.

Next grow pick easier strain to grow.
Haze strains can be finicky and are not for beginners. Pick an easy to grow indica hybrid that flowers in 8 weeks.

I will get a pH meter tomorrow, although the manufacturer recommends to either always regulate pH or not regulate it at all (as long as it's under 8 ).
I've read that a lot regarding organic growing.
I will regulate from now on, and keep an eye on it.

Yeah I can actually compare, I also have Super Bud from Greenhouse and they have no issue with the same treatment.
Next grow I'll try to pick a sativa strain which is easier to grow.

You mean indica not sativa.

I look at your plant and it's hard to say what went wrong.
Most who use feeding charts suggest using 25-50% of what is suggested.
With a finicky haze plant they are best grown with everything constantly balanced in a soil. They can handle being under fed slightly if the grower is experienced to catch the deficiency early but they develop issues quickly if over fed in some strains IMO.

Oh okay, I did know they were harder to grow, but not in the details. Thanks!

I do mean sativa, I would like to have a proper high without being so stone. I tend to be less social when I smoke :/
Maybe I can achieve this harvesting indicas a bit earlier ? Or maybe with some indica strains.

Quick update: Gave them nutrients, they look better.

I also received my pH meter (Milwaukee MW100), my pH is 7.4-7.5. I gotta test the runoff too.

Get that pH down. I float between 6.25 and 6.5.

looks starved for Nitrogen. The overall whole lime green look

They are probably cold and need some higher rh, warm them up imo with leds you need to run hotter, 85-90 is not unheard of from what I've read, mine at 90 daytime with co2 80-85 rh. Seeming to work for me.

Waaay too cold for LED. 19 Celsius is like 67F? You need to be in the mid 80Fs. I had mine at around 80-82F and wasn't seeing what I wanted. I jacked it up to 84-85F and magic happened.

Try a afghanni strain, lower thc levels, 12-15% thc

I just re-positioned my sensor, it was in front of the passive air intake. So with proper measures (In the shade of the top leaves), I have 24.2°C (75.5°F) and 66% RH.
I had something around 30°C (86°F) 2 months ago, and put the drivers out of the grow space, I should maybe bring them back in to warm it up.

Do they need higher temps under LEDs than HPS ?

Yes they need higher temps with LEDs because they don't throw as much radiant heat as HPS/HID so the resultant is the leaf surface temps are a lot lower. And you need to make up for this with a higher ambient temp.

This depends on the medium. In peat based soil you always got to combat the natural lown pH of the medium. I say let the plant decide how you should regulate pH.

It's getting old with people suggesting using "Calmag" for every single problem, especially in peat based mixes when all you really doing is buffering the soil to keep pH higher over time. Either you amend and or reamend the soil. You can do this by adding lime or by using "calmag" later in the grow phase. Most peat based soils comes pre buffered and amended with lime.

Otherwise you have to compensate by running higher pH levels in the nutrient solution, how much depends on many factors, source water and plant food being used the main two.

I don't like using extra nitrogen and calcium in containers if I don't have to. But it's also down to personal preference, there's many ways to the finish line.

Wow now that's super interesting! Especially for summer runs

I read a good article on that subject: https://www.blackdogled.com/lst, and some advices to increase room temps of 5-7°C (41-44.6°F) warmer than HPS grow rooms. (https://www.growopportunity.ca/led-lighting-for-optimization-32285/)
