Curious Question ???

A friend of mine killed her gifted plants. I noticed them dying and she gave them to me to try and save. They were pretty far gone but with a transplant, some extreme pruning and nutrients with a lot of sun I nursed them back from the dead. They had begun to flower I’m guessing from not enough sun and it knowing it was going to die. I got it back to green and it’s been budding since. Got them aug 02. They have some seeds which I’m completely ok with as it smells like it would have been a nice plant. My question is how do I know when the seeds are mature enough to be good ? The buds are weird obviously from the major stress these pot girls have endured so it’s more for the seed then the bud but I will be happy to test it out as well good or bad. I thought with the look of the little bud nubs starting out it was ready but trics and seeds don’t seem to be. It’s been flowering since before I got it technically but it didn’t revive for about 2 weeks or so when I got them.

Thanks. Makes sense. With the revival they are probably a week or 2 off. Checked 1 seed and not there yet as well. Guess the weird bud structure from the stress had me confused.
