cross polinating two breeds, name?

Thats kind of the problem, ppl just make a cross and give it a name as if it was an actual strain..

And it's not? How is what we're doing any different from what the seedbanks do?
"Hey! I just crossed White Widow and AK47! I'll call it a white Russian!"
The only difference is that they have the money and space to be much more particular in the ones they choose to breed.

Thats how a strain starts.. But there is a hell of alot of work between a start, and a strain.. A strain should prove to be relatively true breeding..

Dude, I think what you want is your own creation. Not to sell seeds of it right? If so just do your cross, Soe the seeds and pick the one you like best, and clone it. It's yours. What the hell right?

For the record I have nothing against homemade heterozyggous seeds.. Some of the best weed does come from those.. Still though, a strain goes further..

that's what i have been munching on when i was in Cambodia last week!
they have pizza parlors for foreigners and some of them offer Thai sticks and the usual food. pizza laced with weed.
yummm
if anyone has an oven, this is a must try.

I've heard about those, and I want to try them!
I would love to get some bagseed from Cambodia. I should start looking into going down there next year for the Spring Festival.

born2killspam is technically right

but i say we all have the right to make our own and name them whatever we want to...as long as we are not mass-producing and screwing up someone else's hard work

i bet half the stuff we get anyway is going by some name that someone made up and it probably is some totally different strain all together

i could hand you a bud and call it "goats nuts"...and then you could take that same bud and hand it to someone else and call it "sharks balls"

how would anyone know the difference when they are known as 2 different types of testicles??

Thats fair dawg.. No harm in naming something as long as that name doesn't gain popularity in an undeserved fashion.. Problem is that does happen because genetics tend to spread around, and the name often follows it, but alas the actual lineage does not so we end up with mystery 'strains' that I like to name craps shooter because beans from these are like lotto tickets with better than lotto odds

How do you mean, what do I reckon my ideal cross would be if I could choose anything?? Hmm, I really don't know, but it would have Skunk#1 in it..
