Crop King bad seed may end up working to my advantage

Hello RIU community. Just throwing some info out there. I am growing a seed from Crop King seeds, its was supposed to be an Early Miss Auto which is apparently a cross between White Widdow and BC Big Bud. Sadly she never started to flower. I dropped the seed in water on March 16th and than moved to paper towel, she got a tap root and was put in coco march 18. I ended up flipping to 12/12 light cycle after 12 weeks as I tried to force flowering. Sadly I did not train this plant, I figured I didn't want to play too much with my second plant and wasn't sure what I could do with an auto. It's only my second seed and I didn't know what else to do with this supposed auto but she did get big after 3 months of no training. After flip she started flowering thankfully. She went 12 weeks in veg and has now been on 12/12 9 weeks but looks like she has weeks to go yet. She takes up my 5X5x7 tent, is in coco-perlite 70-30% mix and under 1000 watt Vivosun HPS light. Just a warning to anyone trying Crop Kings Early Miss Auto as it ended up costing me a ton of time and effort on one plant. Looking forward to finally seeing her done. I ow have a bunch of auto seeds.but will be leaving them for my outdoor cottage grows from now on.

Typical with Crap King Seeds

Terribly genetics
That's what I hear, they were in Canada so I went with them but seem like it is about giving away silly buttons and flashy packaging more than seeds. When this lady is finally done I am going to grow 2 Maui Waui and 2 Shiva Skunk. I got the Skunk from Seedsman site and breeder is Sensi Seeds. The Maui I got from True North Seed Bank and the breeder was Nirvana. I also picked up some White Widow from Canuk Seeds and some Gelot.OG from Seedsman themselves. Hoping to find better genetics and will only be doing photo's to avoid this happening again. Any experience with the breeders I mentioned?

Still not sure I understand all the hate on this site for Crop King. Look, I'm not some shill who has a deal with them to push their brand or something. I legit want to know what problem people have had with CK. I've tried 3 different strains from them (Afghani reg, Blueberry reg, and WhiteCookies fem)
The plants that resulted where stellar, IMO. Just for reference, I'm currently running Greenpoint Cake n' Chem, and I'm struggling to see that these plants are any better than the WhiteCookies, for instance.

Inquiring minds want to know.

EDIT: inb4 >greenpoint is crap too because they support Trump.

thanks

Thanks, hoping they arrive. Left UK 9 days ago so just waiting for them to show up in Canada. Fingers crossed.
I ordered seeds from Seedsman a couple months ago, and they just now arrived a couple days ago. Plus, all the seeds are TINY. Given these two as my only choices, I have to say I would order again from CK and not from Seedsman. I have a feeling that a lot of growers chase specific breeders/seedbanks to try to get the latest, greatest and most potent mix of genetics. The reality is that you're simply growing some dude's F1 cross, which is fine if pheno-hunting is what you're after.
In my recent experience, ordering from a Canadian or US seedbank is waaaay better than ordering from Europe & the UK. But I could be wrong.

For me it really about having a bad reputation and selling me a bad seed. I have grown 2 Crop King auto seeds, one worked fine, the second has become a perpetual nightmare. This is the Early Miss I posted about. Germinated March 16th and still going. That is 6 months as of today. Because of garbage genetics I ended up paying for an Auto seed that is photo, this thing takes up my whole tent and has basically eaten up 1.5 full grow cycles. I could have done 4 plants and than been half way through 2 more, instead I am stuck waiting for this one plant to finish. This will be ridiculously expensive as the hydro is being used for only one plant on top of the work for daily feeding and she is always hungry. When I contacted them all they said was it is likely photo and to flip my lights to 12/12. Not a great response after selling me something that was not as advertised. Their product has cost me a ton of time and money and all they would really say is it happens. That is horrible customer service. So bad customer service along with bad product leaves me as a non fan.

Edit, on another note nothing would make me happier than to have them be the best seed bank in the world. All any of us want is good product, good service and reasonable prices. I have moved on and ordered from True North seed bank and Seedsman since and will be growing 2 from each when this auto/photo finally finishes. Seedsman took a very long time but I wanted Shiva Skunk from Sensi seeds and they were the only ones who had it at the time. TNSB sold me my Maui Waui from breeder Nirvana which was great but didn't have the Shiva, they showed it as out of stock. I emailed them 3 times over a month and was totally ignored. That is a strike against TNSB now. I hate poor customer service.

My last seed order took a couple months to get to me and I wasn't happy with any of the phenos so I stuck with my same genetics. Was hoping to get something special but seeds are luck of the draw and I drew a shitty hand lol.

When I was messing with autos, most of the seeds I bought where tiny. Not sure if this is any correlation.

I have no experience with autos, I'm pretty old-fashioned that way in the sense that my grow style is
1. pop 4 or 5 seeds and veg them out
2. LST and supercrop
3. Flip to bloom.
4. Take out males (or keep a good one if I want to chuck pollen and have more seeds)
5. ???
6. Profit!!

I know some seeds are bigger, some are smaller, and as a rule the seed size doesn't reflect the plant quality. It's just that ALL the seeds I got from Seedsman are tiny, and I mean really really small.

I've noticed that when I carefully pollinate (selectively, just a bud here and a bud there) the seeds are huge. Conversely, I've seen seeds from seedbanks that are so small, so I suspect its caused by mass-pollination. They just throw in select males with the females so they end up with thousands of seeds. Just a hunch.

Tiny seeds that aren't autos would bother me also. Like "wheres the meat?"

I just learned last night that even Ebay has seed sellers on it selling hermie seeds as females. The seed industry, and the LED industry for sure, has turned into every other business; a mass producing shit show of unreliable products lol.

I wonder if indica/sativa genetics have something to do with seed size also. Time of pollination is probably a big factor to seed size also, I think you get big seeds because you do it earlier in bud.

Do you ever get a crop that is all males or is it pretty balanced?

Just added it up and thats 21 weeks, holy shit, you got nerves of steel. Hopefully its good bud, looks like it produced pretty good so you have something to show for it. Thanks for raising awareness of these bunk sellers.

A "just flip it to 12/12" response from crap kings would piss me the fuck off. Are they the ones that used to advertise on RIU? That totally kills a perpetual autoflower grow.

Things are usually pretty balanced, but I've seen times where 4/5 were male, and at least one time it was all female (leaving my wondering if the seeds were fem?)
Yes when I chuck I do it early on in flowering so that the seeds have a nice long time to develope. By harvest many seeds are literally bursting out of the buds.
cheers :)

My experience with crap king is the seeds are not the best..at all. My germ rates are very very low with the seeds I purchased from them. Yes they grow weed. Yes the weed is fine.

50% germ rates are not industry standard tho. They are awful.

Their service is easy and the seeds arrive in a few days.

Pros and cons.

They were the only place I could find a good mix pack of seeds from.

I wanted 4 mix...I kush(dif breeder) 1 cbd blueberry(crapking).

From the mix I ended up putting 7 in the towel but still only got 3.

I left 3 seeds in the towel and forgot about them. 1 sprouted at some point in the towel.

And yet I had very high germination rates with their gear. Anyway, I got a couple good strains out of them but now I'm broadening my horizons. There's just so many interesting strains being done out there, by many awesome breeders.

I've followed a few grows now of early miss from Crap king. Half the time they don't auto. On the bright side everyone seems happy with their smoke when it's all over with. But it's definitely amusing watching these grows and how people deal with the big tree's they weren't planning for. This has been going on a couple years now, I'm not sure why these guys haven't stabilized the early miss genetics. The only thing I can guess is they have a huge supply of seeds to work though and they just keep dumping them on the customers. Not really a seed bank I would put my trust in.

Don't be scared off auto's, there are some great strains and breeders out there. However, you really have to look for the old school breeders that have been in the auto game for a long time. Dinafem,Mephisto, fastbuds, dutch passion all produce great auto's you can trust. There is more, but that's my personal top pics. I'm guessing you are from Canada as well, so the auto's make a lot of sense if you want to keep legal with the 4 plant grows.

LOL, I wish it was 21 weeks but is actually 26 weeks and 2 days since germination. I would have loved if it was done 5 weeks earlier but still not. The biggest issue is it took months to find the issue and by that point I did not want all my time to be a waste. In retrospect I wish I had just killed the thing and started over as I would be heading into harvest of 4 plants instead of 1 that has now taken over 6 months. On top of that running lights for this long on one plant is going to make it very expensive bud. At this point I need to see this plant finish just on principal. It has taught me a valuable lesson though. No more indoor Autos, just cannot afford to have this happen again. I still have a pile of seeds from Crop King and they will be used for outdoor cottage grows next year. The folks at Crop Kink know the trouble their products cause when they are not what they were advertised as, had they even offered to do anything like a discount, free seeds or even 1 seed to replace the one that was not an Auto it would have done much in my eyes but when the only thing they do is tell me to flip my lights and live with it I pretty much wrote them off. I hand water and this lady drinks a ton so it is daily work for now over 6 months and all because of crap genetics. Could they have saved their image with me had they used the slightest bit of customer service, perhaps. Now they won't get the opportunity and more over, won't get my hard earned money. As far as I am concerned their bad seed was a big issue but the miserable lack of customer service is what destroyed their hope of getting any more of my money.

I think for me it is photo all the way from now in indoors and will use autos for outdoors. With the 4 plant limit I have enough auto seeds for next 3 or 4 years at cottage so all set there. That way I can have 4 photos indoors at my house. The rule here is 4 per household and I am lucky enough to have 2 homes to plant at. I figure 2 runs of 4 plants indoors will allow me to take the summers off. With 1 outdoor grow at cottage and 2 at my house I can get 12 plants a year finished while still having summer vacation. That is more than I can possibly smoke so will be great for me.

I had started with autos so I could keep putting new plants into tent when they finish and not worry about light cycle and it is a good plan as long as the genetics are good. I have heard good things about Dinafem, Mephisto and Fastbuds. I think will go with one of them when I run out of Auto seeds but as I say, I will take a few years. My next run being from 2 breeders, Nirvana and Sensi Seeds. I have heard they are pretty good so fingers crossed.
