Correcting a setup(1000W) mistake with plant training?

Hello
I am taking one logical aspect solution to my problem so just wanted to check your opinions.
Setup: I am growing amn haze, with 1000W de gavita, sea of green method. 2 weeks veg and 9 weeks flower. 25plants under each lamp. Starting from clones. Temp and humidity perfect.
Problem?
I only yielded 27kg/60lbs from 40q 1000lamps. Around 0.67g per watt.
I yielded more on 600W

Possible cause? My rooms height is little more then 8feet (2.5m) so i figured if amn grows 140cm and i need 100cm above canopy i can place the lamps at fixed 250cm. Still i did a stupid mistake and did not calculate for the mounting space, which took around 40cm so now i have only 2.2m and at top maturity light are only 6-70cm above canopy.
I also noticed the plants kinda stopped developing in the last two weeks after reaching height maturity and being at only 70cm from lights. I did some online research and found many articles suggesting that having 1000W gavita below reccommended distance leads to counter productivity.

Question?
Do you guys suggest i do some training maybe FIM or LST in order to control the height? All other conditions are perfect. My logic says this is my only chance to produce bigger yields and limit height.
I have separate vegging tents with i usually turn on 2 weeks prior to harvest so i start flower from day 1 after harvest so practically i can veg there for a longer period which will not affect SOG.
any suggestions what to do?
