Hello growmies, I’m having trouble cooling my room when lights are on. I was using 2 a/c infinity 4in exhaust fans, One bringing air in and one out. My room was staying around 84 sometimes 85 lights on. I upgraded to 6in AC infinity. I’m still having trouble keeping it below 83. (Which doesn’t make sense due to 50% more airflow) I’m using negative pressure but I have to max out fan speed. What is my issue? Room specs: 5x5x5 insulated room in a crawl space with temps in 68-71 degrees consistently. 6in ac infinity exhaust with carbon filter, spider farmer sf4000 at 80% two ac infinity mini fans circulating air, DWC 3 weeks into flower. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Increase the airflow at the canopy level with oscillating fans. Raise and or dim the light.
More PAR isn’t worth it if your environment is compromised over it. Quality not quantity.
Have you looked into a portable a/c ?

If its sealed everywhere but the intake and outake then the outake can only remove air as fast as the intake can replace it.
So your intake is restrictive and your weak link.
That said, 83f -85f under LED is not an issue .
The other thing you could do is make your drivers remote and have them out of the grow environment.

My 4x8 runs around 82-84. Plants are not complaining. As long as your humidity is in check, those Temps are fine
Thanks for info, I currently have the oscillating fans at bottom blowing air under the canopy, I’ll definitely move one or both to the top. I bought a portable a/c but I don’t have the proper vents to exhaust grow room and a/c. That’s when I upgraded to 6 in fans.

I run a 6” in-line fan for exhaust and a 7” passive intake with two 90 degree elbows in an S shape for light blocking coming through the intake. I only use 1 fan in a 7’x7’x7’ room.
I guess you could do 2 exhaust fans and 2 passive intakes or 1 big passive intake ( not sure on size to keep a slight negative pressure). Seems like a bit much though for air exchange though.

The outside ventilation is typically in low 70’s upper 60’s. One would think that would be good enough. I’m currently using positive pressure (bringing more air in than out) and it cooled it down pretty good. 77-78. So I was able to turn up lights from 85% to 100% and still able to keep daylight temps in the 81-82 deg range. And 71-72 deg lights out. I know this isn’t “perfect” temps but the plants seem to be doing well. I’m sure they could do better but at the moment that’s the best I can do. This was my first/last summer time grow. Too stressful

you run your lights during the night when the ambient temperature outside the building is cooler right?
