Cool Tube?

Hi All, I'm thinking about setting up a grow in a small 1 car garage. I'll only be about 10 plants in soil with a 600w hps. The garage isn't heated and it's fucking cold in there so I'm not worried about heat reduction. I was thinking about getting a cool tube so I could get the light closer to the plants, but then I read that there might be some light lost passing through the glass in cool tubes. My question is this: Will the advantage gained by putting the light closer to the plants out weigh the light loss? Considering I'm not worried about heat, is it worth it to shell out the extra $$ for the cool tube?

If its cold in your garage then don't grow there your plants won't make it.
Temps need to be at least 65 when the light is off. Young plants can't take that much cold

i agree youll have to set a small heater up around your plants, anything below 60 and young plants start to get stunted and shit like that, try growing somewhere where u can control the heat, then buy the cooltube and youll be money $$$$$

Thanx for the input guys. Yeah, I'll have to buy some kinda heater w/ a thermostat if I do this. There was a dude who posted on here a few days ago who took loads of measurements and said there was light loss using a cool tube, but i guess its not big enough to worry about.
