So a while after I started using my RO machine, I noticed some wetness on the walls, like you see often in old walls where the rain is leaking through them or severe moisture, bathrooms etc. the wetness follows a path from beneath the tap that was connected to the machine, down close to the floor, then turns parallel to it, and turns again to another wall in the corner of the room. perhaps I'll take a picture of it if you're having trouble understanding, but the point is that wetness follows the trail of a pipe that probably comes from downstairs.
so i figured what happened was the RO machine put a lot of pressure on the tap in the room, and the pipe was leaking due to that, and otherwise perhaps it would still be leaking but less (help me out on this). Is the wetness my fault? the construction's? 50-50?
This was a long time ago. The RO machine was disconnected a few months later and still is disconnected. I said nothing to my landlord. He lives beneath my flat (it's a big house and my apt is on the upper floor of it). He has a construction store, and he actually built this place, I think. And soon I am leaving the place, so he is bound to see that problem soon. The question is - what do I tell him? The tap is meant for a washing machine. My washing machine is in my bathroom. I could tell him that I had it there, and then moved it. But then why didn't I tell him about it then? Is it even reasonable that a washing machine would cause such damage? He did build the house and he's gonna fix it so he might figure out something is wrong in this story. I could move the machine to the former grow room concerned, which will allow me to simply claim I didn't see the wetness, but the machine is very heavy.
I am not growing currently so I'm not really scared of anything, except having to pay for fixing that wall. He can't prove anything but he might still demand I pay for the damages if he determines that they are not due to reasonable wear.
