got a 4x4 tent just wanting to know wether my exaust should run full time or at periodic intervals? if so how often/long? temps arent an issue as i have an air cooled reflector with seperate ducting from my exaust but my local hydro store said to run my exaust 24/7 to help combat mold, pests, humidity.

I run mine 24/7 and I think most people would agree. It definitely helps control mold, pests, and humidity.

yes 24/7 or at least while the light is on of course but definitely not variable on/off this not only decreases fan life because of the constant on and off but also fluctuates the temp/humid

thx i appreciate the solid info. i was thinking of going 24/7 my only issue with that being CO2 enrichment but as this is my first grow im gonna keep it simple no CO2.

Hey man, homemade CO2 is very easy and you should definitely give it a try for your first grow. Hop on over to the DIY section and check out how people are doing it. Just get a gallon jug and that should be plenty.

I know that making c02 is simple but i am having trouble with a timer schedule. I was thinking of having my tent at 1500 ppm for 15 min, exaust the volume of my tent 5-10 times wich would be about 2-5 min replenish and repeat.Sound good? any body use c02?Whats your schedule?

I use a co2 regulator with 45lb bottle on timer. 1 hour on when lights go on to get room up to 1500ppm.. and 15 minutes on every 90 mins while lights are on after that. during that time i exhaust for a 30 mins before each 15 min on. my rooms a little bigger than ures. u said your using the DIY c02 method so wasting c02 is not as big deal for you as it wont be as expensive as filling your tank every week. so if i were you get a coil thermostat for your exhaust so it turns on when u get to 82F or above, but play around with it to get it dialed in and to see what your girls like. Good luck

in a perfect world you would never vent. co2 would be digitally measured and optomized. temp would be controlled by a air conditioning system that recirculates the air in the room and dehumidifiers keep the humidity in check but in the real world we have to move the air to combat these things. 24/7 will work no doubt. if your humidity or temp were to get too low (very rare chance) then maybe a schedule. if you need to not run it for other reasons (noise, security etc) then you will need to figure out the co2/heat/humidity.

They say you should pause the venting while the co2 is emitting.. But with our venting keeping the room cool, and the humidity down we went with just co2'ing a tad heavy to compensate. 2 hours on when lights come on, 30 on, 30 off til 1 hour before lights off.

Large size tank lasts us about 30 days, and $40.00 to refill.. so not terribly expensive.

I would like to thank you all for the venting and CO2 schedules you have provided me. I get my CO2 injector next week so ill see what work best for the ladys.
