just a bit ago i bought a bag of cheap potting mix in a purple and white bag, it is only soil without and kind of ferts or nutes or anything, IS that the correct kind i should use white veggetating and starting my plant? How do i know when to add nutes or ferts. or will i have to buy different soil also. Also is there anything to make sure to stay away from?

There is no way to grade the quality of your potting soil but as long as it does not have slow release fertilizer in it that is a darn good start in and of itself. If you need to add some perlite or something that is easy enough to do.

Yes that is what you will grow your seedlings in and you can keep using it until the day you harvest your crop. You do not need to change soil. If you start out in cups or small pots you will have to repot into larger pots and use more soil but it can be the very same soil.

You do not want to feed your babies for about 4 to 5 weeks. Some say 3 to 4 weeks but I would rather play it safe. Seeds have a small amount of nutrients in them for the seedlings to live off of initially so you do not need to add anything soon and if you do they are young and fragile and using so little nutes that you would almost certainly burn them and likely kill them.

When you do begin to feed mix a weak solution, like ¼ strength and then do not feed them every time you water. Also do not over water. Keep things moist but not wet. Do not be afraid to let things dry out slightly. That is better than to over water and kill your plants. Most new growers kill their plants with kindness by over watering and over feeding them.
