condensed lighting schedule???

Has anyone tried or heard of a condensed lighting schedule for each day, for exaple doing 16/4 or 10/10 for each cycle, I dont know what it would do to the plants or if it would have any benefits, just was curious.

thought of this while i was eating chicken cause thats sort of what they do to make them eat more....

any ideas??

not saying anything wouldnt happen but shit has been growin on this planet for a LONG time with the light schedule we currently have. ur not gonna pioneer anything by shortening it. just stick with 14 or less for flower (pending on strain) hours and you'll be fine. i am a small believer (havent tested shit yet) on extending the "day" by 30 to 60 min for both light and dark times. light for veg and dark for mid/ late flower. 24.5 hr days is what im talking about. 16.5 hrs light for veg, would like to see a GOOD compairison of this vs the not. although im sure i know who would win. ur not gonna change anything with just one go dude. goodluck and goodtimez

From what I understand it will need 30-45 min of intense light to trigger photosynthesis. Flowering is based on the dark period, so as long as you don't allow a dark period as long or longer than what that strain needs to trigger, you won't enter a flower (10 hours can be enough dark for some strains to flower). Beyond that I have no idea about negative impacts. It's certainly not natural, but my experience with light cycles makes me think it wouldn't cause major damage. Maybe slow things? Dunno though.
