Complete Newbie Needs Some Help

I'm really new to this. I'm really sorry if i sound like a complete twit.
My doctor suggested i get hold of some cannabis to put into cakes to help with pain. I suffer from spinal cord disease and I'm drugged upto the eye balls with very little relief.
My friend has just come over that she has managed to get hold of some leafs.
Apparently i need to dry them out and I should either smoke or put it into tea.

How can I use them for cakes?

Any help would be great

if you can make a cake or cookies you can makes Space Cakes.

I made one batch of chocolate chip cookies with 1/2 oz last night and it is mighty nice.

Make the receipe like normal and add your cannabis, I had to add 1/4 stick more of butter but its cool.
 
if it is leafs with stems, not alot there to help, if it's the sweet leaf, then your good to go.
steps,
1. dry in freezer
2. in crock pot, turn on high for 2 hrs, add leaf material,2 to 4 sticks of unsalted butter,2 cups water, the amount will depend on how much leaf you have and how strong you want the butter to be.
3.turn crock pot to low for another 4-6 hrs.
4. drain contents into a pyrex dish or similar while pouring thru cheesecloth to remove leaf material.
5. put in fridge for few hrs.
6. take out of fridge,poke hole in butter and drain water.
7. use butter to make cakes,cookies or anything else.

Yes, it is leaf with stem.
Can i put that in the freezer to dry them out?
I don't smoke so would assume I can only make tea?

What actually do i need to do to make space cakes? My doctor suggested that i buy a cadburys brownie cake mix. What should i ask for cannabis wise? Sorry, i sound like such a dumbo.

Hi diddabunce....if you're starting with leaf and stems, you will need a LOT to achieve any effects. First you need to cook it into some butter, as described above, then you can use it in any box recipe in place of the oil or butter.

The more weed you start with, the stronger the effect. Using leaf, I'd start with 1/4 pound per 1 pound of butter. Grind the weed first if you can.....after it's dry, you can use a coffee grinder(takes a while since thy are small)or a food processor, which is what I use.

If you don't have a crock pot, you can use a double boiler on the stovetop, or make one using two pans, one inside the other with water in the bottom one. A high boil in the bottom will simmer your mixture in the top. Use enough water in the mixture to make it a stirrable sludge, and cook for....say 3-5 hours, strain thru a screen or strainer, and mash or squeeze the snot out of the residual pulp. Put whatever you strained it into in the fridge for a bit, the butter will solidify on top, and the waste water on the bottom.

I put my butter in ice trays for easy adding to whatever, my trays are a tablespoon per cube. I have found that really chocolat-ey recipes cover the taste best, but then again, I do make some strong-ass butter....a QP of bud per lb of butter. (I squeeze mine with a wine press)

Hope this helps....you can use a saucepan, but keep it low, low, low, and don't walk away...burnt butter is the worst!

If you don't want to smoke, the BEST way is to make it into butter, like people have said. There are a LOT of different ways to make butter, but all work just fine. The most important part is to use a good amount so it will be strong. You can also make weed cream and oil to use so you can cook just about anything. Hi - sorry to hear about your pain. For effective pain relief you probably want to get some Indica weed rather than Sativa. Indica will give you a more relaxed and pain reliefing feeling.
You should buy a vaporizer which is waaay more healthy and smooth to toke than combustion like joints, bongs etc. With a vaporizer you can just inhale a little more when you feel like it and the high will be gone within some hours (depending of your quality).
When eating cannabis you should be carefull not to take too much. If it's completely new to you i would recommend trying a vaporizer first. The reason is that when eating it will take like 30 minutes up to 1 hour before you feel anything. The you will be high for several hours depending on the doze you took. Vaporizing is just easier to doze on the first virgin tries.
When you feel ready to eat it because you know how it feels i would start with like .5 grams of bud. Depending on your leaf you need to take anything from the same and up to 5 grams, so with those leaf you have it will really be a little hard for you to get the doze you need to feel good. I would buy a coulple of grams of decent bud and do this:

Take a table spoon of butter or coconut oil and put it on the stowe on low. Grind the COMPLETELY dry bud into a fine powder and add .5-1 gram of it to the butter (you can dry it completely in the oven to the point where you can make it into a powder just from crushing in your hands). Stirr this for 5-10 minutes and use the butter in anything you want to eat. Make ice cream, pancakes, cakes - anything.
Don't make this a dessert after a heavy meal as the THC will mix up with the whole meal and will release very slowly and might take the whole buzz away.

Hope this guides you a bit buddy. Good luck and feel free to ask anything. And - get one of those small cheap vaporizers to test if this is something for you at all. There's a really cheap one called the Ubie. It look like a small crack pipe and it works.

Rule number 1 is don't eat too much at first, it is easy to add some later but you can't take away. Trust me on this I have seen a lot of people swear they will never do it again, they had too much. Don't want to put you off but them's the facts.

Hope you can afford it, but buy some good weed, get your kids to help find it. I don't mean children.

Go get a brownie mix that uses oil in it. Use 6 grams of weed and crush it up, coffee grinder works but not long in there.

get a small frying pan and pour the oil into it and the weed and heat on very low, LOW is the key. You need to do this for 15 to 20 minutes, string often. No more than 220C/428F. After 20 min pour through a gold coffee strainer in to mixing bowl and use a spoon to push all the oil out of the filter. Let cool than make the mix as instructed on the box. When done cut into 9 squares (9x9 pan) and only eat 1/2 of 1 square. Save the other half for later, wait 1 hour and see if you feel any effect if nothing wait another 1/2 hour if still nothing eat the other half. Wait half hour and if still nothing eat another 1/2. Hope this helps.

If you find you did too much go have a sleep or drink lots of fruit juices. Don't eat as your first meal of the day, only after you have eaten something.

As the mentioned above you want an Indica for pain. Stop into a meds place and ask for help.

hey woodsmaneh! that was so kind of you to give such great directions. i remember about 10 years ago, i made brownies. i cooked the bud and butter just like you said. i was being cheap and didnt strain it so the bud was stuck in our teeth. lol. any ways our brownies were so strong they put me and all my friends to sleep cause we ate too much. my friend slept threw picking up her kids from school. oh my god that was such a blast.

I made some butter last night while I slept. Put 33g in the crock pot 1 pound butter and 4 cups water. Cover put on low overnight. Use the same method to strain and put in a tall plastic container put in fridge let harden. Take out when hard, (stop that were making butter) run container side under hot water to loosen the butter, slowly pour water out there's your budder. A little on toast with honey or jam. I use the butter at 1/2 with the regulate ingredients. So if it calls for 1 cup of butter I go 1/2 green 1/2 regular. I have found that needing to eat a little more is much easier than too much. Like you said it's nitey nite or I will never do this again or even am I going to die lol

How much you use is up to you, I cook for 4 and they all have different tolerances so try to keep it nice for everyone. I have seen to many people turned off by it being way to strong. Happy cooking.

O ya the other thing if you bake tell people so they don't go by and snag one on the way to work, get to work and have to call home and say come get me asshole, I ate one of your cookies. teheee

Funny how everyone asks me now if my baking is special, too funny.
