COMPLETE Darkness?

I'm a newbie to growing and a newbie to the forum. Lotsa good reading here!

My question is about light; will regular light (regular light bulbs, computer screen emissions) affect the grow cycle?

I ask because I live in a small mountain cabin, with limited usable space, and will build a grow closet if I must - but if I can isolate that back room for plants, cover those windows, etc., without moving my work-related equipment, that would be great......

If the answer is that non-grow lights will not hurt the cycle, where on this forum can I follow up to read about it?

Ruffian.

any light will affect the green during 24-7....during 12-12 you need a lightproof room and can only use a green light bulb if ya gotta do work in the darkness cycle of 12-12

Here's the Rule. Anything more than a full moon disrupts the plant. Less than a full moon is better. Darkness is cheap, make a special effort for 100" complete darkness.

Yessir... you shouldn't be able to see your hand at the end of your fully extended arm.. I had an issue getting my latest girls to pop flowers.. closed up all leaks no matter how minor, couldn't see hand, bang...
