Hello everyone!
Well after a lot of research and time put in on this project i have made quite a bit of progress..
This is my first grow.. I guess you can classify me as a newbie
I purchased some seeds from Nirvana. They're white widow... Waited like 3 weeks started to get worried.. so i check my email to make sure everything is straight, you know stage 7 or whatever.. and after that i go out to check the mail and it was like fuckin christmas, they were all there i the package from the netherlands..
Well anyways, I germinated some of them in a paper towel and planted what cracked.
these are some pics of the plants at around 2-3 weeks
Out of these 5 plants I was fortunate enough to get 4 females..
The one male that I had I decided to plant outside... way back in the woods. I live out far from anyone who might notice
And now to bring you up to speed on where I am now...
These are the four females, one is on her 7th week, the other are on no.6
These plants are basically mothers.
I just took about 8 cuttings from to most mature of the bunch and put them in my new homemade cloner i just finished.
These are on day 2. I am misting once a day then putting the dome back on. How are they looking?
I need to get as many healthy clones going as soon as possible because I want to load up my DIY hydro system.
Currently its a 40 site with 3in net pots filled with hydroton in 6in pvc pipe. There are two main 1/2 in tubes that feed each site via 1/8 on tubing. There are no emitters just open tube for a gentle trickle onto the rocks. The pump is an eco 396gph
I'll be using the botanicare line of org. pro grow nutes including liquid karma. This 40 site will soon be expanded to a 60 or even an 80 once i get the concept down. This is my first grow so im new to hydro. I have done a ton of research, bought Jorge Cervantes's book and dvds, ect...
Once my clones root here is my plan:
I'll transfer them into the pvc system by filling the 3in net cups halfway with hydroton then carefully placing the wet rooted clones on and then filling the rest of the way with more hydroton.
Once i get them placed i'll have to feed them nutrients from the res.
My question is this: CAN i run the pumps 24/7 that drip down over the rocks/roots and return to the reservoir. I dont have a recycling timer for say 5min on 1min off, and they are fairly expensive so 24/7 pumps... WILL this work???
In the mean time i've constructed a diy ebb/flow table that will serve as a future mother growing area.
The medium i'll be using is the loose rockwool grow cubes
I got the idea from Al B Fuct. Seems like a pretty easy and efficient setup and will be perfect for mother plants.
The pot size i'm planning on using in the ebb/flow table is about a gallon to two gallons. I'm not sure exactly how big of a pot to use for hydro. I've always been told that you need a gallon for every month of life for soil growing, but i'm not sure for this ebb/flow system... How big do u think the pots should be for say 3 months max for mother plants while they grow and supply cuttings???
Just a little purple haze seedling. hope it turns out to be female
Well.. I guess that about does it. Post back and tell me what u think i should do so I can get this JUNGLE started!!
Thanks in advance. Peace
