Cold frost on my buds, Need some advice.

This is my first outdoor grow and it's mid September. My plants are only 3 weeks into flowering. I'm currently growing 2 strains. Baddazz og cheese and Jack herer, I also just started some great white gorilla seeds for indoor grow. Here in Vermont it's currently down to 30°F, so now frost is developing on my buds. Any general advice for my particular situation?

I would cover them up at night to protect from the frost that will melt and maybe turn into bud rot. I am on the west coast and rarely get frost but we get a lot of marine layer mist. I use bamboo sticks and place a shower curtain over my pots then close it with wooden clothesline clips. I tuck it in really good so the entire plant is covered but not touching the plant. You can also build a little greenhouse cover with PVC pipe and use plastic or cloth to cover them. Then I cover them up after dark and uncover them before sunrise. It can be a task! (: :peace:

Yes I did start them in pots then put them in the ground lol big mistake. I have a feeling im going to have to harvest a few weeks early. This morning it was exactly 20°f and my buds were frozen. It feels like winter here now it's getting real cold. I know my sativa plants are screwed, the buds are small and I'm probably going to make vape juice out of the small sativa buds. The jack herer ones should be decent at best. Also I've noticed the trichomes Turing cloudy and amber pretty early and it's only in it's 3rd week of flowering. But yes definitely going to cover them up for sure. I hope they don't get ruined I have put a decent amount of maintenance in those plants. Let's hope for best guess. Btw your plant looks good, I can also see the frost too lol good luck to you as well.
