I use 1"x1" cubes for clones, Then go to clay pebbles. They're really, really good in my opinion.

Fastforward 2010-- whoooosh ---- not a lot of chit chat a few years ago about coco coir. Personally it should have been a substrate with more of a fan base; maybe, most growers do not spend the duckets to find out that coco coir is so air efficient at the root zone that it can almost resemble the way you can water the heck out of rockwool. Yet think about throwing rockwool away and there are more hassles to in comparison to coco coir. Yet you would NOT want to think of coco coir as the same or similar to hydroton in my opinion, because hydroton does NOT absorb water like a sponge and there for is ran flood and drain, or DWC, or drip, ect. Good luck with you bro. Liked to have found out what you decided or figured out.
