Coco density in pots

Hi all just a quick question.

Do coco harden up over time in the pot as I'm in my 5th week of flower in 19 ltr pots mix is 75% coco 25% perlite and under the first 10mm is solid. I've not been feeding to run off but I'm having problems with leafs dying back really quickly and wondered if it's solid in the pots and I'm only feeding 2.5 ltrs every 2-3 days is it getting to the bottom of the pots to feed the bottom roots.

So just run 5 gallon through each pot with the last 5ltrs contains feed.

Any advise would be good cheers

Hi there, I haven't had much luck with my first coco grow (gone back to soil until next practice) but my coco friends would say to check the weight of the pot to make sure they are using it. At 5 weeks sound like the root system has extended and you should maybe water until you get 10% run off and then leave until it weighs less. My friends also mix 25% perlite and their 5 litre pots always look fluffy on the surface and never heavily weighted, this lot do not ever flush or run off. They try to water daily, I prefer less. I have other coco friends that would def run off at this age then leave for 2 days or so until lighter.

Hope this helps!

This changes based on too many factors
Humidity, plant size, strain, feeding requirements, temp, pot size, and pot type just to name a few.
Just pay attention to your plants. They will tell you long before their going to die from watering issues.

The dropping leaves may have nothing to do with watering.

Do you have any pictures?
How long did you veg?

Every plant I've grown will rapidly discard a few lower leaves here and there as they grow bigger.
