I dont know about the UK but in the USA they find the same thing , althow it's miniscule amounts like 1 part per billion , they also find about every drug you could ever think off and more

they also find radioactive waste from certain hospital procudures

I think this might have something to do with the amount of class a users and dealers that are getting busted and flushing each day,or down the sink

Its actually more talking about the metabolised form of cocaine which can also be found in pharmaceuticals.

scary thing is, the amounts of female hormones, diabetes medicines, heart medicines, anti-anxiety, depression meds, etc. All that stuff isn't thoroughly metabolized and it gets in the water. Scary stuff. It's gonna get ugly in about 15 years or so, when the world's population gets near 9 billion and we all are frying from the global warming, and we're all fighting for more water. The water getting more and more concentrated with funky chemicals and hormones...
