Co2 Tank Question

I have a Co2 tank I just picked up.

I am trying to get the PPM to about 1800 in two grow tents, both 4x4x7 which total 208 Cubic feet but I am having little success.

I am using the shitty plunge and glass seringe to measure the CO2. Everytime I have measured it comes out to 300 PPM which is just the ambient CO2 temp, so its like nothing is going on.

Currently with the Cubic feet meter chart I am running 15 min per hour, on about a setting of 2 during the light periods.

I have tubing set up around all of the plants at the top of the canpoy.


I have my carbon filter running 24/7 to keep the humidity and the smell down. I am not sure but I think by leaving that on it is sucking all the CO2 out of the room before it gets a chance to settle.

I am wondering if I should run my CO2 constantly during light hours since I have my carbon filter, or should I try to increase my settings to run it every 15 min.

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK CAN REALLY USE SOME HELP

my dad can grow some weed. hes never touched a hydro system. i am planning on building a small grow room. he stressed the use of co2 tanks. how does it relate to hydroponics? i plan on growing with a homemade bubbler system. how do these 2 things tie together???? how???

yoyo, are you using some sort of cool tube of air cooled reflector? and why do you want your ppm at 1800? you should be at 1500 ppm. I just have a carbon running in the room with no exhaust. I would let it go on for 2min every 15 min. I run a air cooled reflector and it doesnt get above 73. so I keep my room sealed with a oscillating fan on 24/7. mabye invest in a co2 controller so you can set it and forget it. play around with on times and test it.

I am using cool reflectors. I am using tents so I have a carbon filter inside the tent that vents outside, I also have another big one outside of the tent that doesnt vent out.

I was thinking about a CO2 controller but they are really expensive. Anyone have any low down on a cheap one. I mean i guess i will have to get one because why even have the CO2 that I already paid 300 for if it isnt going to work right.

you can get a cap controller for around 250 on ebay. I think its well worth it. if your temps stay down without exhaust I would seal the tent and just let the carbon run in your tent. and get an oscillating fan.

I have trouble with the temps if I dont run the exhaust for the light, and I have trouble with the humidity if I dont run the carbon filter, meaning that air is contantly being sucked out. maybe that means that I should run the co2 at all times when the light are on up to the strength where i can get it to 1500 PPM.

and you shoul put your co2 lines well above the top canopy of your plants. wrap them around your cool hood or something like that. co2 is heavier then air.

Air cooled reflectors are a must if you decide to inject CO2 into your garden. There is no real way around it. Invest now, save forever.

Frist off you need to seal your tent. Use the carbon filter as a scrubber, meaning put the filter inside your tent on one side at the top. Hook your fan up to it and run the ducting to the other side on the bottom. It will take care of the smell and you won't be waisting your co2!

If you want to run it how you have things set up now you need to follow 3 steps. First is INJECT, this is getting the co2 to a about 1500 ppm. Then is the WAITING period. Wait for your plants to use up the co2 or your room gets to hot, the you start the 3rd step witch is EXHAUST, you do this eather to cool your room or to replace the air with fresh air witch the plants love!

I use co2 in a 8x8x7 room. I inject, wait and exaust every 2 hours and I don't inject the last 2 hours so the co2 is out of the room before bed time! I also use the the glass tubes and have no problems at all with them, and I also have my tank set to the same setting( the top on the ball sits at 2) so I think your waisting your co2 by opening the front of your tent or by running the carbon filter the whole day! A great book to pick up if you haven't is gardening with co2, it has alot of helpfull info and it seems like it might help you out alot with understanding how co2 works in your garden!

I mean no matter what I always had the tents closed when the cO2 is running, i just opened it up to take pictures. I have to carbon filets one is in the right tent and the other is outside. The air is pulling from inside the room on the right going through the bulb and then out the window. The carbon filter in the tent is going outside.

Now I have switched the timers to Co2 on every hair on the hour during flowering. During the first 15 min of the hour I have both the light duct fan and the carbon scrubber off. For the next 15 min i have the fan run. So I have the air ducting on for 45 min in an hour and the carbon filter on 30 min in an hour.

The air ducting is not taking the co2 out because there is no holes it just comes from one side from the outside to out the window.

My testers suck, they are the glass tubes so i have to be careful when i use them.

Let me know if you think that works.

Obviously the most optimal way is to not have any exhaust, but since co2 is heavier than air how does it get sucked out before the plants use it if your exhaust intake is at the top of the room?
