Cloning........

When is the best time to start cloning.....

Anytime there is a sufficient clone to take, although its not recomended during flowering.

It's generally considered wise to wait until the plant is at least 8 weeks old from seed. This insures that the plant is sexually mature and ready to start flowering immediately and mature plants will have better success at rooting.

Younger plants are more difficult to handle because they are hollow. After a plant is about one year old it is no longer hollow and none of the clones taken off of it will be hollow either. When I do a seedling I snip the first available clone, code it with a color thumbtack and bud the seedling. If the new strain works out the clone will go on to become a new mother.
