I am crrently growing a crop of Jack the Ripper, they are about a month old. They are growing leaves off the nodes. I was woundering how old should my plants be before I can clone? Also how many clones is too many? Any help or a link to another thead about the same question would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you. :peace:

Hey Jake,

The first batch of jack the ripper I grew from seed, I flowered at 14 days after germination and I took 20 clones 4 weeks later (weeks into flowering).

Because I took the clones so late into the flowering stage, it took about 20 days for them to root...

After they rooted.... they sat around in the rockwool cubes for about 14 days... JUST looking horrible... I then put them in soil and 10 days later I flowered them...

Then about 2 weeks later,.. I cloned the clones.. another 20 clones...

this is what they look like today... 42 days after put in soil.. 30 days of flowering :)

after a month from rooted my plants are about 2 feet so thats when I clone and put into floweing. I lolipop and take clones from the lower branches I cut.
How many clones depends on ur setup. I get 100% clone rate with under 2 weeks with CloneX so my first few times with it I took way to many clones and couldnt bring myself to kill any of them. Dont crowd your plants.... Like mine are now, neva again....
Its best to take a few extra and kill the weaker ones... really.
hope I helped

A bit more info...

1.5 ounces per plant...average
1000 watt HID
3 x 6 growing area with light mover
18 plants
nevermore than 14 days of veg... ideally 7-10 for rooted clones.
miracle grow soil
water 1 gallon of water about every 10-12 days
no nutrients (other than what is in the soil)
3 gallon containers

When grown from seed, there was no problem with plants leaning over.. now with clones.. the branches don't seem as strong and I have to tie shit up... but the yield is larger :)

super easy no brainer grow...

Check out my organic soil grow. I talk about my beginning mistakes and evolving my setup. I am also cheap, so I work with what I have and get used stuff and build my own.
The plants I have now are crowded like I said but their doing alright. I'll be adding some more lights soon too and doing a second medium sized SOG flowering area.
