cloning problems

hi guys i hope you can help me, i'm having a go at cloning and not having much luck.

i pre flowered some plants and as soon i knew they where girls i took some cuttings.

done it like it says on the net, underwater with a diagonal cut, dipped in clonex then stuck into potting mix. i put them under flouros inside the clone dome thingee i brought for 3 weeks and they looked good, they didnt wilt or change colour, they where even growing a bit so i took a few out to see if there where any root and there where non! whats going on?

could they be to cold? they are in my shed out side

or have i not left them long enough?

could it be because there where of a flowering plant?

they have at least 2 nodes

i didnt cut the leaves in half, would this have helped?

any help would be greatly appresshated

if they have been there for 3 weeks and not dead then im pretty sure u have roots
have u tried feeding them ant nutes yet

hey guys thanks for replying

ive carefully pulled a few up and im sure theres no roots. the bottom of the stem is swollen almost twice the size and a little brown

i havent feed any nuts, i have a seed rasing fert of a 4-14-10 ratio. will that be ok? i thought i read somewhere cutting shouldnt get any N at all??

ive brought them inside now, into the warmth and have taken a few more cuttings and planted them in some peat jiffys, when would be a good time to give them some nuts?

id give them alittle N cuz my flowering plants, fan leaves, are turning real yellow.. lack of N.. so i bought some bonemeal hope that works its high in N.. just alittle tho..
i think that ur nute ratio is good for clones mine is similar..

unfortunately took the same - bad -advice, but live and learn; I'll never take clones in flower again. I

One person re-veges a mother or takes cuttings from a flowering plant and they think they've re-invented the wheel. Yes it can be done, but it should only be used as a last resort.

Taking cutting in flower is a PITA (pain in the ass) - it can take 5 weeks to see new growth - and every time you do it, you lose a little bit of the genetic material you started with.

thanks heaps guys for all the help, ive put my plants back on veg, looks like ill leave em growing for a while befor ill try taking some more clone
