Cloning Problem

Ok i have some white widows I grew just to clone. I have been trying different ways to clone before harvesting my first batch, then I plan on starting these widows. I take a cutting underneath a node, trim the leaves, dip it in rooting gel and stick it in a oasis cube soaked in water with a ph of 6 and a couple drops of super thrive. Now after 2 weeks I cut the cubes open and noticed little growths that might be roots. So I said fuck it and stuck it in a cup of water and over night there was roots. Also the end of the stems was swole that was in the oasis cube, not sure if this is normal. My question is why roots would not develope in the cubes but in water they did. whats the best way to clone with a high success rate. I read so many posts and watch videos and they make it look easy, I just don get how some people get roots in 3 days.

The biggest problem people have with cloning in Oasis cubes, Rockwool ,Rapid rooter or some other medium is they come with a pre drilled hole for you to insert your cutting. ( Most time the hole is to big for the cutting.
A lot of people don't understand that the cutting must be in constant contact with the bottom and sides of the medium. I simply pop my own hole to insert my cutting. That way it is nice and tight.
As far as rooting in 3 days. i have never see it.
Normally I get roots in 7-14 days.

yeah i cut the stem at a 45 degree angle. Thanks for the tip, the hole was more than likely to big

I jam my cutting in as far as it will go. The fastest I've had roots is a week, coming out the sides of the Rapid Rooters. Only one strain did that, Dr. Greenthumbs Iranian G13.
