cloning in soil???

can u clone in soil n do they always droop
or is it just easier to clone in a bubbler

just tried my 1st clone straight into soil - a 3 inch top branch from a revegged NL
looks good at 10 days, didn't even bother with any rooting compound, just a humidity dome

tried that with compound and after 12 hrs they looked really not good

cloning to soil seems to be a bit of a black art, some seem to have great luck, others less so
only other thing that comes to mind is the soil, i use MG Organic Garden, not everyone's favorite on riu
but it really holds onto moisture, heavy on the composted bark/wood i think, might agree with clones
then again, some strains seem to not like cloning so much

iv got a cutting in soil which is rufly 4 days old seem to b fine..

i only did that coz i had no rockwool left
