Cloning Help!

Hey can I get cuttings and stick them into a rockwool cube in a dish of water (like I do for my rooted seedlings) under a humidity dome and a light and be ok with that? also I can go for the basic 18/6 schedule without having to worry of the plant dying due to no roots right?

lol fuck you! I want some solid advice haha and from someone who isnt chasing his ass all the time. (just playin m8 ha)

Cannabis how are your grows goin for you? and how do you clone? I alway see vids on youtube of people with clones under a humidity dome (looks like a fuckin indoor sweat shop) but I just thought about how I never see any type of pump in their.. I wonder if they flood the trays or some shiii, was hoping someone knows out there

all you need is a mother plant thats hella bushy :) start taking cutting's cut them at a 45 degree angle from the bottom which is the easiest to clone and :) dip them in clonex or something which ever cloning solution you prefer put them in rockwool or jiffy pellets and fluorescents lights and should be good to go :) humidity should be like 90 to100 percent humidity

cloning just has a few requirements. really anything that can hold in some humidity will do fine, no pumps or anything. just use your dome and mist them every morning. put a couple drops of alcohol and h2o2 if you got it in your spray and rockwool soaking water - this helps me keep down rotting and stuff. cleaning all your equipment is good too, anything to make things less complicated for the clones. if you want to fed the mothers a little bloom and not a lot of nitrogen a week before this helps a bit, ive found that taking clones after feeding a heavy dose takes a ilttle longer. also, make sure the roots are a little warmer than the ambient temp. (pretty important it seems) my usual method for rockwool cubes is soak it when their cut, dont touch it for 5 days, then water with that alcohol h202 water. then every other day. ( so it can dry a little) takes me about 2 weeks. you dont have to do all this, its just how i do it.

thats my high spill of words lol

Where do you get the h2o2? also does it come in the form of anything else?

and yeah man my mother plant is about 3 months old I can say maybe 3n a half and its fuckin FAAAT

you can get it at a hydro place for pretty cheap (or online for that matter). the stuff in the store is bad though its much less concentrated and has other salts that can fug stuff up. because u would need close to a bottle (exaggeration) to do what the concentrated stuff does. a good clone trim is always good for a fat mother lol. lets it breathe a little - i always think they enjoy it like a cat ejoys brushing haha.

the h2o2 is good because this stuff basically is just oxygen carbonation waiting to happen. but just do a small dose because it can burn young roots a little bit. 1/4 strength is fine. this helps the stems and other open areas to not rot while the clones' trying to do its thing. cant find it in anything else really, the $15 is the best thing. also another note, if your doing organics dont use this stuff it kills your nutes. lol i learned that the hard way.

If yoru gonna clone with rockwool you need to put them in a humidity dome with temps between 72-78 degrees roughly (with a heating mat) and you need to give the clones fresh air every day. You can also clone with a DWC or Aeroponic cloner and those dont need a humidity dome just temerature controlled plan water that is being oxygenated as well as some beneficial bacteria that doesnt allow other bacteria to grow. Different methods same result but one may work better for you, if you feel you can easily meet the creiteria necessary for that type of cloning then try that.

top pic is the MOTHER xD XD about id say 3-4 months old. I kinda forgot when i did it all

2nd pic is my SUPER GHETTO set up, its TEMPORARY I am waiting on my next paycheck and maybe the next one after to get the exhaust/intake maybe a muffler and for sure carbon filter.

Also the 3rd pic is cuz i cant find my fuckin stud finder also Swag hooks cost a FUCK load of money for two puny hooks I can stash in my pocket EASY!!!

THATS the definition of a closet grow.. it aint a closet grow unless you use the rack to hang your light ahaaa :P :]

please click like if ya thought it made ya laugh it would surely just make my day xD

try usuing rapis rooters. they work really well. i cut 80 clones everytime i cure and only around 3 die. keep a wet towel over your dome it helps alot to.

you don't want to pool the water in the tray like that just some in the recesses but not keeping the cube soaked just very moist, squeeze out some water if you have to. Keep the humidity up and just be patient ,give those clones some fresh air once or twice a day and just wait till they sprout those roots.

ok so dont pool the water.. I feel that if i dont the rockwool would dry up and id be fucked

how long can rockwools retain their water without an external source?

If you squeeze the rockwool you will destroy the use of rockwool. It is meant to be a medium that is airy and by squeezing it you remove a lot of air pockets.

The cloning method I use: Soak the rockwool in (pH 5.5 water with 1.5ml/L 29%H2O2 added.) for 24 hours. Then I gently shake out the excess water instead of squeezing to minimize ruining the Rockwool structure. When I shake out enough excess to make my 1.5" rockwool cubes weigh ~22 grams I then take the cuttings. 45 degree angle then put in a small cup of distilled water to prevent air from going in the xylem/phloem. I take my scalpel (Sterilized it before every use with H202) cut thin/shallow vertical lines down 3/4" from the bottom. Coat in cloning solution (Don't dip in bottle of cloning solution to prevent contamination) My clones are cut 6-8". I keep 3-4 leaves, any more and I prune them (This is to reduce transpiration and I restrict the number of leaves instead of cutting perfectly good leaves in half) I know I should but I don't maintain humidity (Hasn't been a problem for me) I use a cloning heat mat under the tray to keep the bottom warm for the incoming roots. I mist with water on occasion (since I don't worry about humidity) I don't add nutes of any sort (They store food in the leaves for 2 weeks, less than the duration it takes to produce roots anyways) By day 7 I have roots coming out the bottom of the rockwool but I read 10-12 is average. By then my roots have a life of their own. After cutting I keep them in a 12 hour dark period then continue 18/6 with t-5 fluorescent 6 inches away. When the rockwool drops to 1/2 of its weight I add water via syringe until it comes back to ~22grams+weight of clone. Usually every 2-3 days (differs based on humidity/air flow/temps for most people) Like people said, fresh air will be a huge saver. Stagnant air leads to dull root growth.

Yes don't squeeze the RW. Use a salad spinner if you have a bunch of cubes to do. Also like has been said don't pool the water at the bottom. RW cubes need not be more than 20g wet. I make mine 25g wet with the cube and cutting, as my cuttings average 5g.
I water mine once daily (twice during the summer) with a digi scale and a spray bottle.:peace:
