you want a humidity dome
get a clear plastic soft drink bottle, cut one end off and spray water into it
then stick it over your clone to keep it humid

what are rapid rooters? never heard of them

RAPID ROOTER®
Rooting Plug

Rapid Rooter’s breakthrough technology produces a unique matrix of composted organic materials bonded together with plant-derived polymers. Rapid Rooter plugs are manufactured using a scientifically controlled process that yields large populations of beneficial microbes in the media. These naturally-occurring microbes colonize young roots, helping plants resist disease while maximizing nutrient uptake. Rapid Rooter plugs are fortified with General Hydroponic micro nutrients for abundant root growth. The optimal air-to-water ratio within the plug matrix results in explosive early root growth. Use Rapid Rooter for robust early rooting that supports explosive plant growth.

Rapid Rooter plugs are available in the following sizes:
• 50 plug tray
• 50 plug bag
• 98 plug mat

i use rock wool ( the kind that is slit on the side so you can open it and place the cutting in with root gel instead of shoving the cutting in the rockwool and having the gel pushed upward.) i use alternativegardensupply gel and rockwool. always 100%...i actually just cloned some jus now. after you got your clones make sure u dont put them in to much intense light. i noticed that the clones are actually very well alive. when u put them under to much intense light they will wilt over to get away from the sun...and when u move them farther they will pop right back up...and this is right after cutting to , crazy huh. get a humidity dome...and make sure the rock wool isnt to drenched in water you want it toe be moist it will root faster that way.

hmmm perhaps I can be of help. I have had problems with cloning in the past and I probably will in the future so don't think I am an expert that's why I know a lot of tricks. I think your putting the stem too far in possibly. Also I would stick with less foliage until you get your technique down pat. The plant looks healthy so I would assume it takes a lot of work. Like stated above those rockwool cubes need to be soaked at 5.5 overnight because they will change the ph of your water it will be too high. Are you using any root stimulator in your water? Try some superthrive or something else with b1 in it with the water-a lot of grow ferts have recipes for cuttings on the back. Are you using a humididome or just a tray of water or what? If your using a tray of water make sure the water has plenty of air from a aquarium pump to provide the oxygen to the roots.

If you are using a humididome and still haven't prblems with clones rooting heres the best advice I ever recieved...there's little sliders on a lot of those tall humidomes and if not cut some air holes in it enough to provide fresh air but not big enough that it loses all the moisture. It worked for me hopefully one of these techs is what u need.
