Cloning Autos

First, can autos be cloned from a mother and will the clones be auto fems as well? Second, do auto fems ever grow as males even when well cared for? Just curious.

cloning auto's is unproductive
but can be done
the clone is the same age as the parent so would go into flower as soon as it recovered basically
ive have gotten males from fem seeds but very very few

When growing an auto flowering strain , It is essentially like starting a timer for however many days they claim it takes from weed to seed. ( Ex: 85 days from seed to weed). Just because you clone the auto it does not reset that timer for the clone, It will continue on and will flower as soon as the shock of cloning is over, usually as a spindly little plant . It is unproductive and I would not try nor recommend it. I would think you can stress a female auto until it throws out male flowers (bananas). I have very rarely had a "well cared for " plant show male flowers, If you stress them they are more likely to do it .

Thank you Budget Buds. That makes sense. Now I get the genetics of it. It is very interesting that the clock keeps ticking.

I tried to clone my first ever grow of auto skunkberry.Mainly coz everybody said it was a waste of time.
I took 4 clones off two plants @4 weeks old.Only one of them grew, probs down to my noobness at cloning.
It only grew to about 8 inches tall, short branches and deformed leaves, but it ended u a solid ball of bud
about the size of a grapefruit. The wet bud wieghed 2oz,so about half oz dry.
It was harvested at least a month after its mother.
Took pics on my phone but lost that phone when drunk one night.
I have not tried it again, but it proves it can be done.

That is interesting. It makes me wonder. If one were to totally rob say one mother, treat those babies extra nice, a quick SOG with a big cola on the mother maybe? You might end up with more bud, more to the point it would be fun to experiment. I guess this will require breaking with convention and coming to my own conclusions and experiments at some point.

Hey pistil,i see what yer saying. But i think that experiment will have been tried when autos 1st came on the scene.
Thats why were told not to do it,coz its not viable. As opposed to growing the plants out.
I can see you like to experiment, and you will probably try cloning a full plant,go for it dude.
Iwish i could stop experimenting,am sick of fucking up,haha. Its human nature to do it.
If its in ya,its got to come out.Good luck to ya.

it can be done but pointless in most cases . Exept I had a plant have some issues at the base near dirt level so I chopped it down do and cloned all the tops. I turned the plant into 15 or so instead of loosing it. edit: save money on seeds lmao j/k
