Once a plant go into budding it's very hard to take clones. It can be done but not smart.
The plant has to revert to veg state. This can take up to a month.Thats if it roots at all.
So if you can take clones off another plant do it.Otherwise I would take the clones and put them in a areoponic cloning system(better chance of rooting)Goods luck!!

All very true- thanks for pointing that out.

A lot of folks have thought they can avoid keeping a mother plant by taking cuts off the plants they intent to flower, but as FE says, clones taken from plants in flower are notoriously slow to set root. If clones fail to strike and you need more, it'll be about 10-14 days before you realise that another set of cuttings is needed. The plant you took cuttings from is now 2 weeks further into flower, making the problem worse.

On the other hand, if you have some mums constantly vegging, it's simple matter to get more slips.
