Clones turning yellow in the center.

Hello guys,

Here you can see 10 clones of Sweet Zombie:

I've started them in Root Riot cube. I've been late with my RDWC system so i put them in this home made cloner by the time i'm ready.
It's difficult to maintain sufficient humidity in the mini greenhouse, that's why I put them inside the cloner. To avoid that new roots dry out.


The cloner is one fogger and one air stone bubbling that you can see here. The plastic is dark but not opaque. That all i had.

You can also see here that some of the roots are starting to become brown:

I'm running a 0.9-EC water with MaxiGrow nutrients. Ph is around 6.
I put some CO2 in the mini green house at the start, but i've removed it. I thought it might be too much for cuttings

My main problem is that the center of my clones start to yellowing and i'm still not ready yet. Missing parts that i will get tomorrow....

Can soemeone help me and explain to me why are thoose clones are starting to show yellow leaves in the center?

it's hard to say. your lights could be a little bit too close which could be causing light bleaching. or it could be the start of a deficiency

I've forgot to tell about the light. It is a 24W LED light 8000k that i generally use for my aquariums. It is very white. I can dimme it down.

24W doesn't sound a lot but yes i would turn it down a little bit and if the problem gets better then you know it was the lights :)

You know, the last grow i've burned my young plant by putting my 200W LED light to close. So thanks for your advice.. It looks like that i'm doing the same mistakes over and over again.

1-Root environment that is too wet, which makes oxygen absorption more difficult and an iron deficiency. The plants slowly turn lighter yellow, starting with the new leaves.

2-CO2 poisoning The ladies then turn to an increasingly lighter yellow.

How to make a cloner without being too wet in the root area? Have already lot of roots who are "swimming" in water? Have a great root groth in fact. Only this yellow alarm on top.

is your EC dropping ?

if you dont' have a co2 controller that shows ppm, don't use it if you are guessing.

is your pH in check?

are you using anythign for root rot? maxigro is pretty much clear when mixed. any other additives?

water temps?

looks like a Mg deficiency to me. but that depends on how you answer.

feed them flowering nutes as soon as you see roots popping out.. like 1/8" roots.. only do like 50% dosage since clones dont need more and you'll probably burn them if you go higher. this will fix your yellowing

how does feeding them nutes with less N than he is now going to fix yellowing? i'm curious.
