clones in DWC drooping

clones showed roots about 3 days ago, so I put them into a DWC system: 10 gallon res, ppm@ 100, PH ~ 6 (rough estimate since my pH meter has not been calibrated yet), but I used 7 gallons of distilled water to fill the res. I have a 4 inch round airstone at the bottom, with a 45 liter/min pump pushing oxygen through it. water temps are ~ 70-76. Im currently using frozen water bottles to cool it down.

are they drooping from too much water? they started getting droopy yesterday, which I associated with overwatering, since I am mainly a soil grower, and drooping leaves usually means overwatering. btw, this is my first DWC attempt. Ive been running the air pump in intervals now, hoping to let the roots dry a bit and stretch out looking for moisture. humidity is ~ 43%. Should I still be spraying them often to keep moisture in the leaves?

air pump needs to stay on 24/7 bro. make sure your roots are being hit by the bubbles from the water below, if not, raise your water level.

the air pump was on 24/7, but it started looking droopy. and yea the water level is high enough that the mist from the bubbles hitting the surface IS getting the roots wet. theyre about 10/11 days old, and currently sitting under 4x4ft t5ho lights (12 inches away, the t5s put out a decent amount of heat).

ppm is sitting at about 100 w/ distilled water & foxfarm grow big for hydroponics.

i had the same problem with droopy leaves mate, and as i was a soil grower i also thought that this was over watering, but i was advised on here that it was underwatering and realised that my roots weren't in the water enough, keep the air pump on and make sure the roots are in the water i also think i read on here that an airstone that produces finer bubbles are best, the finer the better.good luck.

the plant in the front looks like the tips are curling in. That's heat stress when you see that shit. Remember clones ALWAYS get worse before they get better
not saying it IS heat stress or under/overwatering but thats about all it could be. The fact that they have roots now they should take off soon, but now that they have roots dont bother spraying them

I am new to hydro as well and my bottom leaves are drooping and tips are curling, should I have my drip system on at all time the guy I bought my materials from said to keep them watered 24/7?!! My temp is avg 78 ph 6.5 and put nuts in at 1/4 dose is it too early for nutes maybe I burned them or are the just going through shock from the new transplant plenty of new growth from the top though.

your temp is to high as is your ph,try to get your temp down to at least 65 deg and ph 5.8 to 6. good luck

not bragging, i am the dwc clonng master.
100% success rate for years.

1) water temps are not important when you clone w/ dwc

2) did you use rooting powder (or gel) ...i use powder on my cuts

3) no nutes... maybe a drop of superthrive per gallon ...i have used diluted clonex with great results

4) did you make your final cut through a node (very important)

5) did you at least scrape the surface from the bottom 1/4" of the cut with a razor to remove the "plant skin", then wet in water, & dip in rooting powder/gel

a) did you trim back ALL the fan leaves by 1/2
b) you MUST use a humidity dome till they bust roots
c) stems STAY IN THE WATER till they bust nice roots

6) when you took the cutting did u put it directly in a cup of water & while working keep dipping in h2o to prevent embolism

7) did you clean your hands & STERILIZE your razor (critical)

eight) leave the pump on ALL THE TIME, ALWAYS, forever, as long as the plant is alive (mega critical)

9) lower your ph to 5.5 to 5.7

10) once the plant pops some nice roots, then mix out veg nutes at 150 to 250 ppm cause they'll want a feed

fyi : with bubble cloning, imo, if you dont own ph & ppm measuring tools, you'll never get it down... you need exact measurements of ppm & ph ...not 1/4 tsp of this and that.

let me know.

i am preparing a tutorial on how i clone, with pcs, juts waiting on my mother plants.:joint:

Thanks for replying although I bought clones from a dispensary after that is when I put them in the hydration and turned on the drip I lowered ph and can't get temp below 77 . My babies are now drooping more curling up and are almost soggy and brown, the weird part is the top still has groth with green leaves but the tips still curl up. Earlier I put nuts in the second day of having them which I've studied to find I should have waiting. I have flush the system and hoping someone knows what's going on. Should I start over?

They r newly planted clones in a drip system the drip splashes onto the leaves but it's a round drip ring around the bucket. The roots r about 4 inches long so not even close to coming out the hydroton

i'd say : if you can get more clones, do it since you only have two in that rez.

i think you're fucked because u turned off the air pump, dont have a dome, used distelled water, worked dirty, and more.

if you can do it again, do it.
if not, put a dome on them & pray (you did day they were turning brown :).

work clean next time. be fast, no time for wanking around.

this way:

1) cut below a node & throw cut in water.

2) take cut to your (clean & ready) work area in cup of water

3) clean your dirty hands, sterilize your razor every time new or not & every couple of cuts too, lay everything on a clean towel, open rooting powder

4) take cut out of water, scrape tissue from a node above cut (area where you will make final cut), THEN make final cut threw node & disguard leftover

5) quickly dip in water & right into the powder (no penis playing, quick)

6) put right in not pot using (WITH) neoprene collar (no hydroton). no scraping off powder or gel (rookie mistake).

7) ph'd TAP water is right at stem level (better) or a little above (best). maybe a drop of superthrive or tblspn per gal of clonex (one or the other, both is great but not necessary

eight) use several air stones. plenty o' o2 is important. dont be cheap on the stones & pump (your dwc engine). sure you can get by with a hooptee or get a corvette & pay the extra $10 for a unit with 2 or three outlets : & run all three into the clone rez. disloved o2 is the key.

9) dome on, lift off every day, leave off sometimes, always put back on to keep moist.

a) NEVER mist cuttings... be a true OG pimp like me & make those slutty clone whores work for that root money love... in this case water.

seriously ===> MIST ONLY THE DOME & keep it humid !! : that's why we using the dome, right?

10) water temps not important. change water every week & dont not do it. ph'd tap. distilled water is for irons.

11) light : 20/4 (i like) or straight 24 (sometime do this, but prefer 20/4 and then AFTER you bust NICE long & HAIRY ROOTS : drop in your hydroton & off to the muthafukin races : bump veg up to full 24

12 cut all fan leaves back 1/3 to 1/2 , you can do this after clones are in the rez.

13) wait 4 to 20 days : depends on strain : & play with the dome.

14) did i say work clean?

Water temp is not important for cloning lolz didn't want to post but seen you post this twice it is the single most important factor dude you may have good rates but have you though maybe your temp were spot on?

All the other shit does not matter You can use plain ph balanced water as long as the temps are right!
Don't want to start a pissing match just though I would clear up some miss guided info!

If ya don't believe me take some cuttings and root them in water colder than 68 see what happens nothing and if you go to high you will get high % of rot!

75 degrees is perfect temp for the water!

knuckleheads bent on semantics are funny.

what's better a 9" or 10" cock?

100% for years. any strain.

...water temps aren't important as long as you don't have the rez outside in the winter or baking under a 1000w MH. i am successful with temps from very low 70s to mid 80s.

i can piss if you'd like.
instead, i will respectfully disagree.

dont need to try your way, the let me sit around like a girl scout at a campfire sweating the 75 degree water, when my way is perfect for the multiple strains i run.

sweat the ppm's & ph if you want to sweat anything
sweat those rez changes for sure.

temps don't matter one bit ...if you change out the rez on the regular.
& we are NOT talking nute'd water. we're talking tap water wih a a few drops superthrive.

my all encompasing 9" cock statement of the day : change the rez often in your cloner, dont sweat temps, & never get rot.

proactive : not reactive

girl scouts around campfires are reactive.

anyway, thought i'd just "clear up some miss guided info!"

lol.

wanna go clone for clone pics?

please show us your craft & here's to pissing in your snow.

i got three running right now in a hot ass detached garage grow room, running an 81 to 82 degrees rez, & bright ass white long as hell roots.

how do i do it?

I bought the clones from a dispesery they where ready to plant not one person I've talked to spoke about a dome. I'm confused and don't think blog helps much seems like everyone is wanting to be the smartest I don't believe there is one best way. The questions is "my clones in a drip hydro system in hydroton is gettin a ton of growth on top with minor curling bottom leaves are curled dry and look like the will fall off soon, what is the best guess for diagnoses

Pics work better and get a more thorough diagnosis around these parts.
There are SO many probs that can occur and look this way or that way.
Your perspective and descriptive ideas may not be someone elses.
Post a pic(s).
Give ENTIRE grow details.
The more minute(as in precision and not time), the better.

that aero shit is very pretty.

impressed. clean & neat set up. a man with integrity.
i like that.

maybe you do have a 10" cock? (no homo)

i'll have some current dwc clone pics as soon as i get "lights on"
