Clone transplanting question!

Alright, so, I might have a guy with some clones... but he's doing me a favor and he only ever puts his clones in peat pellets. I'm not about to ask him to use a different medium since he is helping me out. I'm wondering... if I get them in the peat pellets, is it possible to place the smaller peat into a 3 inch cube of rockwool and have them sprout through, and to then use them in a hydro setup? Or, if that won't work, can I simply pull the clones out of the peat, rinse them off then redip them in rooting solution and put them in 1 inch rockwool?

Any tips for my little dilema would be appreciated.

that would definitely work, you wouldn't have to take them out of the peat pellet. the roots will grow through the peat, and through the rockwool and when they start growing into the root chamber they become less restricted and the plants should show the quick growth of how hydros produce.
