I've got some really expensive beans which i will defo be cloning and keeping.

Can i confirm the following question,

1) When you clone you take the clone from a branch which is growing just above the node from the stem of the plant?

pretty much any new growth will root.. It's better to wait a few months for the mother to establish a root root system... Make sure to make cuts in ur clipping...

I like to make my cut between two nodes. That way your leaving two possible future clones. I also like to count down from the top of the branch you are cloning,3 or 4 nodes then cut. Then cut the branches off the 3rd or 4th node, because I want that node to be sprouting roots, as well as the angle cut. I hope this helps, I suck at explaining stuff. lol :dunce:

I will add a few pics of what my clones look like after I cut them! I have almost a 100% susses rate cutting clones, if you need anything else just hit me up!
The third and fourth pic are the smallest clone I ever cut successfully! The 5th pic is two small clones next to regular size ones.

Thanks for the detailed answer,

I have cloned before but i've made the mistake of taking a clone from a branch coming off the stem which branches off and then i take a clone...I'm reading this is not good.

And that you should clone a cutting which comes directly off the main stork of the plant because it will be strong and just like the original plant.

Well that's not necessarily true when u take a clipping AKA(Cloning) it's will have the exact genetic makeup of it's mother..what matters it when choosing wer to cut is how high up the plant yur taking it; the lower branches have more "Rooting Hormons" then the top... Top has more growth hormones.
This only is to raise tha chances of success, we all no if u have proper environment almost anything will propagate...
Goodluck 2 u buddy

Check out think link in my sig. I started this grow with clones that were 1 1/2 to 3 inches big. All you need is one growth tip and at least 1/2 inch to go under the soil.

Just trying to get a good strong clone i'm thinking if taken straight of the stork of the plant it's going to be strong.

Also if in Veg should be taken near the top of the plant and if in flower from the bottom part of the plant.

Myself i had always taken from the lower plant of the plant when in veg and have never had problems.

I just want to ensure i get a quality clone strong like it's mother!

Cloning is easy, I dont know why folks have such a hard time. Any new growth will work. What you are looking for is called a "meristem" it is the place where plants grow from. As long as you have an active meristem in your clone you will be fine. I wouldnt take it too low from the real woody part of the plant, but more fro the middle where things are still soft and greenish. Other than that, your good to go.

Your talking about topping you dont need to take the main growth as mentioned the bottom branches need to be removed anyway if you lolipop. The bottom 3-4 branch sets become clones for me all the time. I never take from the main stalk that would be called topping, I cut the whole branch off and the tip becomes one clone and if I still have a branch set with growth spots on each side then I clip the stem down to the branches and root that piece as well and they come up as two instead of one
