Clerks movie theory

so i recently rewatched the movie clerks, and i always wondered why it was exactly filmed in b&w..so i googled it, and all i received were some piss poor answers of 'it was cheaper'. i myself have gone through film classes and have a photography degree..and there is not that big of a difference, its just all stages of quality.
but anyways..my theory is he did it so no one could tell that the entire movie was essentially filmed at night. any thoughts on this?bongsmilie

ahhh thanks uncle buck! see, i knew these little shits posting garbage on yahoo answers were totally off about why. like kevin smith cared about film pricing, he was in the midst of making millions off this movie lol

the ENTIRE movie wasnt shot at night

certain shots are during the day ( hockey game on the roof)

the black and white i think is a statement kinda like he wanted it to be that way to say something and thats left up to the person

i just wont buy it was shot entirely at night the hockey game is CLEARLY during the day
