If the leaves aren't receiving light, are touching the medium, are blocking too much air flow, are too dense and many are touching each other or are 50%+ damaged I would trim them. Otherwise, leave them alone.

Plant looks like it could use a little LST ( low stress training ), that would eliminate the need to remove anything, more of control how and where it grows.

Becomes a issue with a single DWC for water testing and lifting the lid with scrog. But I agree.

If LST isn’t a viable option, you might not have a choice but to trim/prune. I myself don’t like it because I like my plants to breath and grow every little bit they can. I see the fan leaves like the solar panels to my house, without them, no power. Now of course removing a few here and there won’t compromise the whole grow, but hopefully you catch my drift.
