i think the tops of my plants are nearly ready...
under a microscope some of the trichomes are cloudy, most still seem clear..and some are orange... i find it really hard to differenciate this way to be honest.
but going by the colours of ht ehairs, a majority twoards the top of the plant are starting to turn red now.

so my question is-

should i start flushing with water now, chop the tops in a week when the water has been absorbed, then start refertilising and let the rest of plant finish budding????

or should i chop straight away and just flush the rest of the plant??

will not flushing make a big difference if ive been using organic fertiliser??

If you cut the tops off just keep an eye out for male flowers. Sometimes when a un pollenated plant gets old it will throw some last minute male flowers.

You can take the top and let the rest of the plant ripen, but I have found that bud that is dried when it has been chopped from the plant like that is a little harsher than bud dried ON the plant. Personally, I choose to let the cola go a little longer and wait for the rest of the plant to catch up, then harvest the whole enchilada... but it's just a personal preference.

I agree with Dank. I find its more productive if you harvest the whole plant and replace it with a new plant. In my situation atleast. If I didnt have anything to replace it with then I would double harvest like you described.
