Choosing seeds to plant

Okay, I've been hearing a lot of different theories of which seeds (not the strain, but the actual seeds) are the best to plant. I'm pretty much referring to bagseed here. For example, I've heard that seeds that are light brown are females and vice versa, I saw this chart:

From what I hear (and believe), there is no way to tell the sex of the plant from the seed. I know that you shouldn't use green seeds and seeds shouldn't break/crumple when you apply pressure to them. But what else should you look for in a seed while choosing them to plant?

Also, the chart is from fdd, if you want me to take it off, just ask.

FDD will be happy that you are using his chart!!

you want the fat brown seeds with the "tiger stripes" those are going to be the ones that sprout- you can use the chart to try and detemine sex- I dont think thats easy though- most likely takes time and practice to get that down- send him a PM on the subject- If he isnt too busy, Im pretty sure he would be more than happy to speak with you about choosing seeds...

i dump them all out, spread them into a flat pile and wait for one to scream out to me. sometimes it will jump right out, other times you might need to poke them around a little. it's kinda a jedi thing. i'm really not trying to be funny, that's how i do it. i have had about a 70% female success rate this year. i'm sure i'm just lucky. as far as the chart goes, i have looked at my seeds and noticed the differences as in the chart. i've just never kept track of what i was doing. it would be cool to have someone actually test this theory.

I will test this theory out here in a week or so when I start my indoor grow. Unless I go with the fem. buddha I have...sya that makes me think- I'll look at my feminized seeds and see if they all have the little volcano on the bottom.Let me go see what's going on really fast.

P.S.- jedi thing? are you serious? hmmmm

Ok, I just looked at the 5 fem. seeds I have, and only 1 has a clearly defined volcano at the bottom.I don't know what that says about the theory but just wanted to report.Either way, I will be germing soon, and if I use non-fem seeds I will make notes of what the seeds looked like and the eventual gender of the plant.

Yeah, I heard how you choose your seeds. I tried that with my first grow, layed them out and chose the ones that just, told you they wanted to be planted. Turned out nicely. I'll have to start that again.
