Well, I saved up nice sensi star sugar trim.. not fan leaves, frosty trim.. So, I used 3/4 of a pound of butter, which I clarified by heating and cooling and removing the foam from top. I added the 40 something grams of trim... simmered on low in crock pot for 8 hours... cooled. simmered another 8 hours.... now at this point it is 1 in the morning, Im blasting David Gilmours newer album On an Island, I am just about hallucinating from dipping bread in the pot for the last hour and vaporizing... I take a measuring cup, place it in a big bowl (so i wont spill or splatter). I pour all the liquid butter into measuring cup, squeeze out last bit of butter from pulp with a cheesecloth.... then I am looking in the bowl and notice I spilled a lot.. wtf? i say to myself..... then i notice... I used a F**KING plastic measuring cup and all the magic butter melted through the bottom!!!!!!!!!! DOH!!!!!!! So, thats my story.. sucks huh? I just figured all plastic is heat safe these days... good news is, i told my story to a friend, and he gave me a o and a half of trim he didnt want and I made a new stronger batch using only a half lb. of butter... strong strong stuff.... comes in waves... anyway, so anyone cooking with mother natures gift, please please remember to use pyrex... peace
