checking run off when groing in soil

hi there, any help would be great..
im using AN nutes sensi bloom a,b, bigbud, bud candy, overdrive, rhizotoninc and cannazime.. ive been feed, feed, water and checking the run off each time i water or feed them, everything is below ec 2.0.. But the problem is they dont seem to be doing much (im in my 5th week of flower with big buddas blue cheese).. im sure the buds should b bigger than wot they are... ill try get some pics of plants in a min.. many thanks

the ph is coming out at 6.3/6.2 so everything is fine there (i give them 6.3 in canna pro plus soil) but im just trying to keep ec levels down so i dont over do it.. ive been feed feed and then phed water.. do i really need to worry about the ec of run off??

If you list out exactly what you've got going on for lights/soil/pot size/etc we might be able to help out a little more...listing of 7 products that you throw into your nutes doesn't tell us how its going to grow...just that you spent alot of money so far on fertilizers :D

And we definitely need those pics!

If you're buds are small, I'd be focusing on lights, not nutes, unless you are showing deficiencies. What lights are ya using?

im using 2x600 hps wiv new bulbs in so it cant be them.. they not showing no kind of def that i know of, they in 11L pots with canna pro plus, big budda blue cheese grown from seed vegged for about 6/7 weeks to a nice bushy size.. im probably just flapping??? ill try my best to get some pics on tonite to show u guys how they coming on

If you had some good veg growth and good starting flowering growth, then all of a sudden it stopped growing and leaves started doing the I hate you shimmy in 11liter pots(2.9gallons)...I'd lean towards your root system is starving, and its rootbound.

how offeren do i need to be running water through my pots to keep salts down?? i do it once a week or is that to much?? i dont flush them i just give them the same amount as normal.. ive just started overdrive and was just gonna use that without giving them water till i start my flush in 2 weeks

you shouldn't have to keep water going through them or flush them if you are giving them the proper amount of nutrition. Flushing is a corrective soil measure, so if you overfertilize it removes those built up salts from the soil. Your roots are getting compacted by not having enough soil to grow in, and the longer you let it sit in such a small pot the longer you'll still have issues. Flushing can also be used between the plant cycles to basically remove the previous set of nutrients so you can add the next step(i.e. going from veg to flower). You have craptons of fertilizer designed to be done in that way, so when you went from veg to flower did you give it a flush and let it sit out for 4-5 days to dry out and bring oxygen back into the root system?

But even with all that, you've still got a pot thats too small for what you've got going on here...you've got professional grade nutrients and a pot size thats 3x too small. It needs that oyxgen in the root system, and its not getting any at this point...give her room to grow!

how do i tell if its rootbound?? the girls are about 4 n a half foot tall and i couldnt give them a cuddle if i tried..lol so they nice n bushy.. shall i pull one out the pot n ave a look at the roots??

go for it...you'll see a shitton of roots around the outside of the soil curling all around...have a new pot and soil read ;)

i gave them a good wash out before i started my bloom and wen i swiched to overdrive.. i can understand where u coming from about the pots being to small, ive asways thought that but never have got hold of any bigger pots.. ill ave to get some for the next crop..

will it b ok to transplant now?? 5 weeks into flower, think id be a bit of a pussy in doing that now, its nearly xmas lol

well...you are going to reduce the yield, and make the growing time probably just a long by keeping it in that small pot, why not increase the pot size and get some more out of her? :)

ive got a bagseed gowing up there that i got off a pal, n thats in a small pot.. ill re-pot that one n see how it goes.. would i notice any colour change or anything happen with the leaves or any part of the plant as it gets older if its rootbound??

not really color changes, more deficiencies and stagnation, but you could see the color lighten up due to a nitrogen deficiency...rootbinding can cause alot of bad things to happen :D

Its always good to know what the ec is of your runoff kinda tells you what plant is doing

my guess is ph is to low thinking if your in soil is you want min 6.4 to 7.0 and bei9ng your ph is 6.2 your plant is not taking anything and is locked out so inother words just sitting there i would flush them till you get ppm low around 800 and ph in the 6.8 mark then next day feed them i bet your ec runoff will be high
